  1. correct to be remembered: can earn only 1 quota place despite having 2 shooters in contention
  2. Ruggero Tita & Maria Caterina Banti won the medal race and they are World Champions for the 3rd time in the Nacra 17 class
  3. finally! World Sailing is live on Youtube and they're already broadcasting some ILCA racing right now
  4. just another shameful day for the Italians I think we're gonna end up with just 1 single quota place in the whole rifle & pistol sector in Paris
  5. men's Individual 10m Air Pistol Gold: Zhang Bowen Silver: Damir Mikec Bronze: Kiril Kirov Olympic Quota Places (to the NOCs, NOT to the shooters): Full Results https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=18300
  6. correct and fixed...last night I just unintentionally cancelled the "together with" part
  7. you can always watch that ondemand on youtube, I think
  8. so, all of tomorrow's and Friday's medal races basically will only be good to award the silver and bronze medals, since we already know the World Champions in 3 out of 4 classes and in the 4th we have a crew that only needs an 8th place with 2 more teams from the same Country also in the 10-boat race not the best presentation for World Sailing from an Italian perspective, great to see Tita & Banti back on top of the world, but in general those first 4 classes are a big, big disappointment, as we missed out not only on the medal races, but also on the Olympic Quota Place in 3 of them (while we expected to get at least 3, if not all 4 OQPs in this group of events)

  11. men's Skiff (49er), boats qualified to the medal race 1. 45 pts 2. 71.8 pts 3. 76 pts 4. 87 pts 5. 90 pts 6. 91 pts 7. 104 pts 8. 104 pts 9. 104 pts 10. 108 pts All these Nations are also qualified to the Olympic Games 2024, together with and are already mathematically World Champions women's Skiff (49er), boats qualified to the medal race 1. 48 pts 2. 84 pts 3. 88 pts 4. 99 pts 5. 101 pts 6. 106 pts 7. 108 pts 8. 109 pts 9. 118 pts 10. 125 pts All these Nations are also qualified to the Olympic Games 2024 are already mathematically World Champions
  12. don't underestimate my athletic (in)ability
  13. that's the only reason it won't happen, but it would be a great show attracting a lot more viewers than our traditional olympic boats but yeah, it was only a personal bias rather than an actual feasible option
  14. a few more people pulling out and WA will start calling some Totallympians to fill the entry lists p.s. no way I'm going...it's too hot and I'm too lazy...better stay home with air conditioning working hard
  15. if they come here to learn to play better and make a lot of money they wouldn't get anywhere else, why not asking them to play also for our NT? however, almost every naturalized player that played for our NT (in every sport) came here to live all of their life also after they stop playing professional sport (and in fact we also have a lot of sons/daughters of former players that played for different NTs like Zaytsev or Travica, for instance, whose fathers played for URS and YUG respectively) it's not that we're just buying their sport performance as many other Nations do p.s. Antropova's story is way different and I explained it in the previous post
  16. right! it was fun only because Echegoyen won it all as a neutral spectator, technically, it wasn't (tbh, in London most of the sailing program was heavily penalized by the awful weather conditions, with very light to almost no wind)
  17. actually, Antropova is not a Russian "player" she was born in Iceland from Russian parents and technically she's an Italian volleyball player, as she's been living here since she was 14 the problem is that she was called up by the Russian U-15 National team when she was eligible for that team (but she never played for them because she was already living in Italy) and therefore the FIVB and CEV were forced by the Russian protest to stop her from playing for already 3/4 years ago all that mess went on until a few months ago the CAS ruled that she was actually a true Italian volleyball grown player and could play for our NT then, she also had to wait a few more months because of the Italian burocracy, which is normally very complicated, but nowadays it's even more frustrating when it has to do with people coming from Countries like Russia, Cuba and all the non "politically pro West of the World" places p.s. technically, we need a player like that more than oxygen, given that we don't have any power hitter (except for Egonu and all of her mental issues) and I'm preparing the after Mazzanti tonight made it clear that Antropova is the starting opposite and Egonu is just a reserve if only we don't win this championship...
  18. actually, F50 is a single design, fully shared specifics by the class association (and the club organizing the sail GP), which would be great for the competition and would have all the teams on the same level it's true that a 6-man crew is very demanding in terms of boat/quota places, but at the same time cutting kite and mixed dinghy (at least 80, maybe 100 spots, didn't make the exact count) and reducing a bit the enormous amount of ILCA spots (let's say 5/6 places less for both genders) might do it somehow (20 F50 crews = 120 spots, not too many more than those that would go with the other 3 classes out) about the 3-man crew match racing event, we had that in 1992 with the soling class and it wasn't really a good show...if match racing gets back, it has to be with the most spectacular boats and course available (which is the sail GP environment right now, I have no doubt about it)
  19. you're right my bad, but I just don't follow paralympic sport and their events basically don't exist for me
  20. personally, I think they might start the boulder part according to the boulder world ranking and then give the climbers a bit more rest between boulder and lead finally, in the lead stint they could go in reverse order than the boulder part of the same round (quali/semi/final), but IFSC does have different ideas
  21. which is what happened with Schubert in the men's event (and in part with Pilz among the women) he's good but not very consistent in boulder, so it might happen that he has an average overall result one day (in the semis) and an amazing result on another given day (the final) and this basically kills the flow of the competition
  22. it was the reverse order of the result of the semifinal round (and it was the same also for the women), that's the rule it was just a case* that in the women's event the climax was built slowly because the lead specialists also proved to be the best combined specialists *actually, it happened because the values are way more established than in the men's division in the men's event, instead, things were so balanced that in the final they went in a quite different way compared to the semis
  23. together with that farce named Kitesurf, imho that's the event that should go immediately to make room for a (partially, at least) match-race based event (6-man F50 Sail-GP boats would be perfect) sorry for the historical loss, but also having the mixed version instead of men and women by themselves has already killed history
