  1. from Today through Sunday, Inzell is hosting the German Single Distance National Championships and a few International Invitation Races (some of those are also the Italian trials for the first World Cup races of the season) among the points of interest, Arianna Fontana taking part in her second official competition in Speedskating after last month's debut in SLC in this weekend, she will skate 1500m, 3000m and the Mass Start race schedule and results can be found here: https://live.speedskatingnews.info/events/1040
  2. right now, KBO Korean Series game #3 (KIA Tigers @ Samsung Lions, KIA are leading the series 2-0) is live here: https://www.sooplive.com/soopbaseball1 note: the game will also be available on demand later on the same website
  3. just checked...and here in Italy it's regularly listed for Saturday (7.27 p.m. CET) and Sunday (6.27 p.m. CET) on the Discovery Plus site/app
  4. yes, there will be a few... https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/wbsc-premier12-roster-announcement-tracker and moreover, some news about the coverage of the tournament (and not only this tournament) https://www.wbsc.org/en/news/dazn-and-wbsc-announce-global-distribution-partnership
  5. meanwhile the 2 next best Baseball Leagues in the World have also reached the Final Series in , the 2024 Japan Series will feature the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks (back to business after the awful 2023 season), winner of the Pacific League, and the surprising Yokohama DeNA Bay Stars, winners of the Central League after an amazing series against the heavily favoured Tokyo Giants the Japan Series (best-of-7 games, 2-3-2 format) will start next Saturday, October 26th in Yokohama @ 6.30 p.m. local time in South Korea, instead, the 2024 Korean Series will see the KIA Tigers from Gwangju facing the Samsung Lions from Daegu the series is a best-of-7 matchup, but with an unusual 2-2-3 format, with the best seeded teams (KIA in this case) hosting not only 4, but 5 of the potential 7 games game #1 was scheduled for earlier, Today, but it was suspended in the top of the 6th inning (Samsung leading 1-0, runners on 1st & 2nd, 0 out) due to heavy rain it should resume Tomorrow @ 4 p.m. local time (before game #2 @ 6.30 p.m. local time), but the weather forecast is awful also for Tomorrow and there's a good chance that there won't be any ball played all day long

  7. my 2 cents... Beatrice Chebet (women's Track) Yaroslava Mahuchick (women's Field) Rai Benjamin (men's Track) Mondo Duplantis (men's Field) honorable mention, Militiadis Tentoglu (men's Field)
  8. the New York Yankees are the first team qualified to the 2024 World Series they won the American League, beating in the ALCS the Cleveland Indians (for the hypocrites, Guardians ) 4 games to 1 (5-2; 6-3; 5-7; 8-6; 5-2) it was an amazing series, meanwhile the NLCS between New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers (currently the Dodgers are leading 3 games to 2, game #6 is scheduled for Tonight) still has to offer a decent game to the audience (it's definitely one of the worst CS I've ever watched so far...and I've been watching the MLB since 1988 )
  9. my mom was given a 2-month diagnosis with leukemia...she survived 23 months, a few of them even with decent quality of life but I wish you'll never ever get to experience what being a "dead man/woman walking" (or living every single day of that period beside him/her) means
  10. Slovak TV RTVS :SPORT is also going to show the action live @hckošice
  11. World Acquatics more and more corrupted and ludicrous... 6-month ban for the Italian National Team
  12. and have signed a strategic agreement about close cooperation (sharing of training camps, knowhow, use of respective local infrastructures, possibly some Italian speedskaters signing deals with NED top clubs) in Speedskating and Short Track Speedskating for the next few seasons (at least until Milano-Cortina 2026, but with an option to extend the agreement well beyond that date) let's see if we can take something home from the true powerhouse of (speed)skating sports
