  7. of course I couldn't watch many fights since the early days had no coverage and in the previous days I didn't follow the action very closely, but for what I've seen Today, the only score that might have gone the other way round was the 2nd round of Charaabi's match vs the Korean IM (and it could have been a decisive factor, we will never know) Mesiano, Carini and Lenzi were clearly better than their opponents on the other hand, I saw more than one very controversial score in other fights...some were just made useless by the other judges, who saved the deserving winner, but not all the fighters were so lucky (Grainne Walsh, the first that comes to my mind)
  8. tbh, it's less than expected among the women, they just did the bare minimum (and they even took too many risks, with Charaabi being way worse than her previous outings suggested) among the men, Lenzi is a great surprise (but he deserved the qualification from start to finish, Today he destroyed a Russian darling fighting for the very rich Bahrein like Latypov...he might even win a shocking medal for us in Paris, if he gets a good draw), but Malanga and Serra flopped big time we can say that we're still 1 quota place behind schedule (and I fear that we're done...Serra will regret for the rest of his life the robbery against him at the European Games)
  9. well, there's not much diffence, except for the money involved... and actually, I first thought about fencing...that's why I'm afraid it won't work as well as we might think I'm not negative, I know what the current global situation is...and most small sports federations have enormous problems to get enough money to run their routine activity, so I'm concerned about something that's gonna increase the costs for WA rather than saving/better spend their money
  10. yes, all the best crews were there basically this was the general proble before the Olympics (even if they have a global qualification regatta yet to come, if I remember well...but most of the Olympic participants are already there, so, not their task) the main difference between this championship and the Olympics will be the weather/wind...in Marseille the situation is quite different from Lanzarote (which is at the Islas Canarias), so, the outcome might be different, too (btw, I don't think that will miss out on a medal, at least among the women...they're too good)
  11. maybe they have to review the Olympic Qualification process, but they also have to guarantee all the athletes that can't make it to the Olympics a truly satisfactory activity looking at the usual starting field, I don't think that nobody cares about the G1/G2 tournaments...actually, most likely they're the reason why Taekwondo has so many participants in all the weight classes at the most important competitions like the World Champs without that stuff through the whole year, many Countries that can't aim for a spot among the "greats" going to the Games most likely wouldn't even develop a high level Taekwondo program should they create a yearly World Tour (like Tennis, for instance), it should have many tournaments in any case and it should be on multiple levels of play and probably it would cost WT (and the organizers) too much

  21. DEL League Stats Köln Set New Audience European Record Die Kölner Haie welcomed an average of 16,993 spectators to the home games in the PENNY DEL 16,993! That's how many spectators attended the Kölner Haie's home games in the main round of the 2023/2024 PENNY DEL season. A new record. Not just for the KEC, but also for European ice hockey. The Haie only set the previous record, which meant a new German record, in the last 2022/2023 season. At that time, an average of 14,286 spectators (including playoffs) flocked to the KEC. In the current season, the Haie were able to clearly break their own record with over 2,700 more fans per game and thus 16,993 spectators per home game. A total of over 423,000 spectators have already attended the Haie's home games this season. The LANXESS Arena was sold out a total of six times this season; this had never happened before in almost 25 years of KEC in the Deutzer Arena. With these audience numbers, the Haie are the European ice hockey club crowd for the first time in 22 years. With an average of 16,993 spectators, the KEC replaces the Swiss top club SC Bern and is the crowd again in Europe for the first time since 2002. The Swiss, who held the attendance record for 22 years in a row, welcomed an average of 15,490 spectators per home game this season. With the strong attendance figures, the Haie also broke a European record. Not only did the Haie replace SCB as the spectator crowd, with 16,993 spectators per home game they also improved the Bernese European record of 16,399 visitors from the 2016/2017 season. If you compare the Sharks' spectator numbers with those of the North American NHL, the ice hockey league with the largest number of spectators in the world, it is noticeable that the KEC leaves some teams behind here too. More specifically, six NHL teams (Columbus, Buffalo, Anaheim, San Jose, Winnipeg and Arizona) have fewer visitors per game than the Sharks this season. PENNY DEL climbs to number 1 in Europe in terms of audience popularity An average of 7,160 fans come to the main round - more than ever before. This puts the league well above the previous record of 6,647 from the 2015/16 season - and at the same time has taken over the top position of all ice hockey leagues in Europe: it is the highest average attendance in the main round of all European leagues. The PENNY DEL has pushed the previous leader, the Swiss National League (average audience: 7,131), out of first place and is only behind the National Hockey League (NHL) among the ice hockey leagues worldwide. A total of almost 2.6 million spectators have come to the arenas of the 14 clubs this year.

  24. ops...I didn't go back to the previous page
  25. tbh, watching the replay more than once I never had the feeling that there was a touch on the helmet, it looked like the kick landed at least 10cm (if not more) from the head, right on the shoulder but it's still possible that I didn't see well the pictures (I was looking on a small cell phone screen)
