  1. yeah, if we get more Semenya-alike cases, the "triple mixed" relays are the future...
  2. here I am... for 2 good reasons... first, the landscape of today's race was simply amazing...I love those places... second, since the women's race itself was basically senseless, our broadcasters (they also refused to follow the race carefully ) put on a show analyzing the very sad situation of our Nordic Disciplines and made it the most interesting 90 mins of the day (and not only of the day)...
  3. only, and if only, they don't cut any other of the current Olympic disciplines (especially the Individual race)...
  4. by the way, Shiffrin is officially not competing in Crans Montana this week and will also miss next weekend's races in La Thuile (ITA)...at least...
  5. Roeiseland now have 3 Gold medals in this championship and she's been on the podium in every race so far... so, every race with women involved (being a full female competition or a mixed relay) has been won either by Roeiseland or Wierer... good spread of success is definitely something unknown to women's Biathlon...
  6. Doro... way too fast on the skis...
  7. yesssss!!!!! Doro did it again!!! miracles sometimes happen!
  8. Wierer is flying on the skis...let's hope she's not gonna waste everything with poor shooting...
  9. J. Boe is trying to make this race interesting... Hofer not as good as in the first lap...we do really need a miracle (and a few teams to miss a few targets) to comeback...
  10. wow! what a lap by Hofer! well done, man!
  11. game over for ITA... Doro started too many positions behind the top teams (because of the awful performance in Pokljuka, where we started a true "B" team) and had to waste too much time & energy on the skis to be effective at the shooting range...
  12. yes, in all the weight classes where 3 places are up for grabs, there will be box-off matches between the semifinals losers... so, we can already see the difference between a somehow serious attempt to have fair conditions for the athletes and a bunch of cheaters like AIBA...
  13. yes, it's also reported on UWW's official website with a full news article... https://unitedworldwrestling.org/article/trio-olympic-licenses-reassigned-after-anti-doping-rules-violations
  14. a few stats about Wierer... with today's Gold Medal, she's now the 2nd best Italian woman in the history of snow sports for what concerns the number of world titles (she has 3, tied with Deborah Compagnoni, both of them just behind Stefania Belmondo with 4)... curiously, all those 3 women have been capable of winning 2 titles in 1 single championship: Wierer did it this year, Compagnoni in 1997, Belmondo did it twice in 1993 and 1999... the only difference between Wierer and the other 2 women is the fact that she never won an Olympic Gold medal, but she won 1 overall world cup (so far), meanwhile Compagnoni and Belmondo* never won an overall world cup title, but both won multiple Olympic Gold medals... *obviously, should FIS make justice and recount the Olympic, World, World Cup races without all the Russian women later in the years proved to be cheaters of the worst type, then things would change dramatically...but this is another story...and it's totally OT right here...
  15. thanks for clarification... Iranian situation looks very complicated indeed... p.s. I watched the video...I just can't believe it really happened something like that... I'm speechless...
  16. then it would have been a true Telemark race...
  17. by the way, your guy Naserpour not only did wrestle in the final...he did even win by superiority! and as far as I can see, Hedayat was gifted a bronze medal without fighting...or not? actually, according to the UWW website, in the repechage round the guy from IRQ was given the win over the guy from TJK by Forfeit... and then in the bronze medal match, Hedayat was also given the win over the guy from IRQ by Forfeit... so, I guess now he could get in trouble despite his hard try to avoid any doping test... I'm curious to see how this thing ends (it was not a good show up for the sport of wrestling, for Iran and above all for that guy, in any case)...
  18. well, she's one of the most promising juniors of her age groups... at the recent junior worlds in Switzerland she was 2nd in the Individual race and 3rd in both the Sprint and the Pursuit events... I think she has a bright future ahead of her...hope she's not gonna waste her undoubted talent...
  19. yes, but she wouldn't have been better than 4th in any case... not so many regrets for her...
  20. no, she's going to rest on Saturday... on Thursday, she and Hofer are too much a medal threat to give up without trying...
  21. / I'd have liked a lot more something like "come and enjoy the Olympic virus all together"
  22. tbh, I'd really like to see a trial between Gazimagomedov and Sidakov... I've watched both yeasterday's final (of course ) and the Yariguin's (it's free on Youtube...and in very high picture quality ) and I think he should stand a chance...I'm not convinced Sidakov would have an easy task against him (though, I think Sidakov would eventually win that trial, if ever they'd make it)... by the way, we also have to remember that all the Russian wrestlers are still "under threat" because of the WADA sentence...they could be swept out all together if CAS doesn't change something in that sentence...the risk to see the Olympics without them is still high...
  23. Bergsma!!! Canadians stunned by the Dutch after a shitty race, where basically 4/5 skaters took a big lead over the main group and then fought for the medals only between them... nice effort by Bergsma, though, who closed the gap by himself after having underestimated the leading group for a while, but he did react just in time not to waste his chances and finally edged out the Canadian duo... no comment on Giovannini's performance...senseless...just senseless (and useless)... another championship to forget as quick as possible for ITA is over...
  24. Blondin wins the women's mass start... the favourite Schouten only 3rd and Francesca Lollobrigida only 5th...frankly I don't understand her attitude during the race...she's been always in the middle of the main group and then she started her final sprint from way too far..she basically never had a single chance to make the podium today...
