  1. I mean, Winnington improving that much was quite expected, but McLoughlin... c'mon, man!
  2. Btissam Sadini to follow... meanwhile Anita Serogina and Sabina Zakharova will have another chance in the repechage finals...
  3. that 27.x by the Korean and Claudymar Garces Sequera just ended the last Italian hopes in the women's field... she's the 1st safely through to the round robin in the women's -61kg...
  4. let's say that results from KAZ and UZB meets recently haven't been very trustable...and not only in Athletics... https://swimswam.com/indian-swimmer-alleges-timing-manipulation-at-uzbekistan-open-championships/
  5. it is...competitions with 36 athletes (and the Olympics are 36-man/woman tournaments) have the 3 semis with 12 participants and 12 finalists... that's inked...
  6. no comment, we're throwing away at least 2 chances to make the finals if not even 1 safe medal and 1 quite possible... only because they didn't make the Grazini in, De Nicolo out swap... and we could even argue about Bacci being chose over our junior champion, who's lately regularly scoring points Bacci has never dreamed of...
  7. don't give them ideas...otherwise they would try and establish some super-Over competitions as well for real... by the way, they held a competition a few weeks ago with the new format...and if I remember well, it was something like 3 heats of 12 athletes each, top 3 from each heat and 3 best scores overall among the others advancing to the final... and it was a 12-athlete final... https://www.uipmworld.org/news/innovative-paris-2024-modern-pentathlon-format-undergoes-final-test
  8. the last link is more into her personally, but it doesn't make any referral to the heritage of her family... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan_Jastrab https://www.procyclingstats.com/rider/235025 https://cyclingtips.com/2021/02/from-the-olympics-to-the-spring-classics-megan-jastrab-wants-it-all/
  9. that's why normally Karate tournaments have knockout brackets... but nowadays with those limited quota places and small number of athletes in each tournament, they're using more and more this sh*t of round robins...
  10. thanks for your calculation... it's really great news, because she hasn't recovered yet at 100% since the injury that made her miss the Lisbon K1PL and lose in the 1st match at the Europeans... hopefully, now she can get better before the start of the Olympics...
  11. wonderful...also the Artistic Swimming girls are going to Tokyo... so, basically we already know the RAI TV schedule...8 hours a day of Artistic Swimming and 8 hours a day of Rhythmic Gymnastics... as usual...nothing new under this fuckin' sun... luckily, we have a lot of chances beyond our public tv, starting with Eurosport Player and going on with many satellite tv broadcasters...
  12. and this is a quick recap of those who are going to take part into the final round robin groups later today and fight for the 3 Olympic spots available in each class... women's Kata: Dilara Bozan / Jasmin Juettner / Alexandra Feracci / Fatemeh Sadeghi women's Kumite -55kg: Moldir Zhangbyrbay / Anna Chernysheva / Dorota Banaszczyk / Ivet Goranova men's Kumite -67kg: Eray Samdan / Yves Martial Tadissi / Abdel Rahman Almasatfa / Firdovsi Farzaliyev
  13. I think yes, but the man in charge of all those calculations is @MHSN I'm terrible when it comes to maths... by the way, Ivet Goranova is the last to go through and find a place in the round robin of the women's -55kg class...
  14. Dorota Banaszczyk is through to the final round robin...
  15. Ivet Goranova is through to the repechage final against Warling... sorry for my previous mistake...
  16. and Firdovsi Farzaliyev joins the company...round robin also for him in the same class...
  17. Almasatfa is through to the round robin in the men's -67kg class...
  18. Carla Burkitt just eliminated Yassmin Attia now she's 1 step far away from the round robin (she has to beat Dorota Banaszczyk)...
  19. some details on the official schedule... Short Track CC is today at 17.20 (women's first, men to follow) DH Finals are on saturday at 12.30 (women) and 13.45 (men) Olympic CC races are on Sunday at Noon (women) and 14.30 (men)
  20. epee M: foil M: sabre M: our best bet is...everybody! all the Italian fencers on a given day could win an Olympic gold medal...obviously it won't happen all in once, but who knows? we've always had some surprising medallists beside our top stars... by the way, our safest bet is always the women's Foil, individual and team... no need to say that fencing is the true Italian trade mark in terms of sports, we won more than half of our Olympic medals in this sport and I think we'll continue this trend until the end of days...
  21. Moldir Zhangbyrbay and Anna Chernysheva safe through to the round robin...
  22. Chernysheva too strong for the Polish girl... end of dreams for Sara Cardin (who lost -well deserved- to Banaszczyk without doing anything for 3 mins)...
  23. naaa...Kumizaki will be there at 99.99%
  24. ops...we came almost together (actually you were a bit quicker)...
  25. women's -55kg pool finals (winners to round robin, losers to the repechage final) Moldir Zhangbyrbay vs Jennifer Warling Dorota Banaszczyk vs Anna Chernysheva
