  1. Chris Burton and Claudio Castilla Ruiz are in the group of latest injury withdrawals as well... I feel like Australia and Spain have had incredibly rotten luck in this department...
  2. Talk about milking your reallocation. Rudolph Williams will compete in K1 200 m, K2 1000 m and C1 1000 m. https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/canoe-sprint/athlete-profile-n1492752-williams-rudolf.htm
  3. I think there are 8 seeds, the rest are unseeded.
  4. TOTALLYMPICS IS A SOURCE https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/sailing/athlete-profile-n1476354-hoesch-adrian-wilhelm-jochen.htm @JoshMartini007
  5. Euro had spectators which helped a lot. With empty stands, the event will look more forced.
  6. Sadly, the injury of Quality Purdey has been confirmed. Chris Burton is out, but he appeared to be quite shocked that the he did not get reselected on his reserve horse Clever Louis. Stuart Tinney is in. I like Tinney, but Leporis is his second horse, and I feel all the wind has gone out of Australian sails at this point.
  7. Where is the equality when an oath about fair-play taken by a man apparently does not imply women, and vice versa? Men and women somehow have different fair-play standards or what? What's next? Tennis matches having a male and a female head umpire?
  8. The new oath sounds godawful. I will mute it.
  9. The organizers quarantined them by their assigned seat numbers so changing seats did not cause any problem here. In fact, had they not swapped seats, they would have actually been in the "proximity" and potentially positive now (although sill very unlikely). What matters is that all this daily testing is done improperly, when some "iffy" circumstance (at best) can override days of negative tests. And all this in an arguably most quarantine-friendly sport to begin with. One athlete competing at a time on an ever-changing, liquid venue.
  10. Oh, and the decision who to quarantine was based on their "proximity" to the positive person (according to their ticket numbers). Marinić and his coach reportedly did not sit at their specified places, though, as the flight (from Istanbul) was not full.
  11. So unusual to see our NOC actually doing something. The NOC president Mateša was loud and called the organizers "incompetent". They have asked the IOC to resolve this as soon as possible. Marinić is vaccinated. He has been tested for the last 10 days (including all 8 days since arriving to Japan) and was negative every time. And now he will lose two training days minimum (best case scenario). Game over.
  12. So this is weird. Chris Burton has been listed as withdrawn since yesterday. It would be a great shame if confirmed, but so far I haven't been able to find any confirmation from the Australian federation, from news-sites, or even from the athletes involved themselves.
  13. He seems unsure about it. But he did say that "staying in quarantine for 7 days would seriously reduce his chances of competing". They are trying everything to stop this quarantine, though... But just the fact that something like 100 (negative) athletes could feasibly miss the Olympics due to one positive test on their flight is eerie... And even then, different rules apply to different teams, apparently.
  14. This must be a bad joke... A full week after arriving to Japan, our canoeist Matija Marinić ended up in quarantine today (not allowed to train on the rapids) because some person from his flight tested positive... And that's despite Marinić testing negative every day since arriving in Japan. There were canoeists from other nations on that flight as well, but apparently not all of them were ordered a quarantine... If this is how it works, then just cancel the Games ffs !
  15. Just a couple of remarks. Should question #78 have "all three team events"? Question #112 would sound a lot better with "Italy will finish 6th.", just to avoid a double negation. I know I was the one who suggested it.
  16. And Calanta has reached Tokyo! Now she will have the whole stables for herself for a couple of days. Not even the Japanese horses are there yet.
  17. And we have the first horse leaving for Tokyo! Mary Hanna's Calanta flew today solo from Australia.
  18. Claudio Castilla Ruiz & Alcaide are out just before heading to the airport. So sad, they are always an exciting combination to watch. https://www.eurodressage.com/2021/07/12/claudio-castilla-ruiz-and-alcaide-drop-out-spanish-olympic-team Claudio appears to be absolutely devastated.
  19. Mogić i Grgić nisu izdržali ni pola olimpijskog ciklusa...
  20. On the contrary, I think Japan will get even bigger advantage now... A couple of unexpected golds could go a long way for the Japanese public. Especially in a sport like judo. 8-12 golds?
  21. Damn, you must be seriously pissed that Italy doubly broke your theory with back-to-back game and championship penalty wins.
  22. 19-year old boy with almost no national experience missing a penalty is perfectly anti-climatic ending to this anti-climactic game.
  23. Both substitute players flopped lol
