  1. Well, now we finally have a situation that was described in this IJF article more than a month ago. 20 nations got tripartite places, 2 for refugees, and one extra for Syria. Don't know why Syria was given this extra place, but refugee quotas definitely shouldn't count as tripartite places. If IOC wants to have a refugee team, then they ought to give them extra places and not take quotas away from other nations (same story for Saudi women).
  2. Sweden apparently declined both of their women's time trial quotas, they should go to Poland and Luxembourg. UCI really starting to annoy me. They published the final quotas for MTB and BMX almost a month ago. There were some changes in road cycling too, but they didn't publish anything yet.
  3. Exactly, I found it impossible to enjoy when trying to watch more than one thing at a time.
  4. Looks like Guinea got a wild card in women's -63kg. http://www.judobase.org/#/competition/profile/1339/competitors/11 And also Botswana in men's -60kg. http://www.judobase.org/#/competition/profile/1339/competitors/1 And also Myanmar in men's -100kg. http://www.judobase.org/#/competition/profile/1339/competitors/6

  6. Not gonna happen sadly as they lost the rights before Sochi already. The new rights holder is not decent enough to make the same service, what is a crime really.
  7. 4 up 3 count.
  8. And yet we had cases like Sharapova. Clearing them in five minutes is unprofessional, they are supposed to make individual analysis of each athlete.
  9. Yes, it has been changed for Rio. In all team events there are 4 members per team.
  10. Daniel Bluman is the next who had to change his horse (from Sancha to Apardi). Hopefully no more withdrawals coming up.
  11. It's almost like they don't want to have any more whistle blowers.
  12. Btw, Stepanova's request to compete as neutral athlete has been declined.
  13. There will still be no Russians in athletics, right? Like IAAF decided.
  14. Completely agree, it's like they want to create some X Games atmosphere or whatnot. And just this segregation of sports into "traditional", "popular" and "cool" sports is a complete crap in my opinion. But this various popular music for various events is just another thing that organizers have done to make this Olympics less traditional... Among other things, they have put ceremonies outside of athletics stadium (and I assume that means there will be no Olympic flame in athletics stadium, very sad...), they had to put blue track for athletics and so on..
  15. Most of these nations in sprint canoeing already received reallocations in various ways.
  16. Dominican Republic no longer in fencing, as their athlete received a black card. Malta in weightlifting.

  21. Australian dressage rider Kelly Layne unfortunately had to withdraw from Rio, as her horse will not be fit enough for Rio after injury. Layne and Udon had nice story... Sue Hearn will replace her with horse Remmington, making her Olympic debut at age 60. At least she finally gets a chance to represent Australia at some big competition. Very friendly person as you can see in this interview.
  22. Hard to say for Rio as I don't know that much about him. I guess individual final (top 25) could be possible, if he avoids jumping penalties in cross-country.
  23. Looking forward to see this Chilean military officer in Rio.
  24. US eventer Phillip Dutton had to withdraw his horse Cubalawn after sustaining an injury. He will now ride Mighty Nice.
