  1. and Puerto Rico got robbed against Uzbekistan ! this is the last day of the Olympics, they need money and can't wait another 4 years for that.
  2. what a mistake by our coach, why the hell you are challenging a decision against Azerbaijan ? they own UWW. they will NEVER change decision against Azerbaijan. Gazyumov's knee touched the mat and Yazdani got robbed, but we knew how it works. with Boltukaev losing ,Yazdani had gold medal in his pocket winning this one.
  3. lol what a quick day for Nasiri. worst defense ever, we had a gold medal caliber wrestler in this weight in Ahmad Mohammadi . they forced him to wrestle this guy when he was injured, made his injury much worse and therefore killed our chance for a possible gold. that's why I hate this "trial" system. when you know who is better, just send him to the Olympics.
  4. yes I think he does, he is not the favorite but he has a chance
  5. Today was the first time I watched almost an entire Modern Pentathlon competition, seriously I never want to disrespect any sport but honestly the running/shooting part was like a circus ! some people were running to the left, some to the right. just inches away from each other I wonder if all those fans in stadium could understand what the hell is happening and where is the finish line !
  6. No there is not, Women's Greco-Roman doesn't even exist. never heard a single tournament I remember even during that IOC meeting (when they re-added wrestling) they asked UWW officials about it and the Canadian girl from UWW told them women around the world didn't show interest in Greco-Roman yet.
  7. he has a tough Mongolian in 1st round, then that Chinese guy I forgot to mention before, the dark horse here. if he can survives these 2 matches he has a chance, considering his age, It will be really hard for him to survive wrestling 4 close matches in 2 hours.
  8. VERY hard to predict. Ramonov on paper but from what I saw , Russian freestyle wrestlers was a bit out of shape here, (even Sadullaev didn't kill anybody here) with this crazy scheduling , the conditioning is very important here, in most wrestling tournaments there are usually 1-2 hours between matches, but here usually less than 30 minutes. so getting a bye in 1st round is a big thing, so I give more chances to those 3 guys in bottom half with "bye" in 1st round. Batirov maybe. Novruzov despite being a last year silver medalist never impressed me.
  9. Actually he has a good draw, the bottom half is much tougher, the Armenian is indeed a former world champion but he didn't even qualify for Rio. he was lucky to get invited because of that Meldonium case. his 2nd opponent will be probably easy for him. he has a tough semifinal against either Asgarov or Gadzhiev.
  10. The call was indeed controversial , but I have to say the whole officiating was terrible , the rules are not clear and this creates controversy First the center referee should not stop the match while the American still had the leg and was attacking , that was a mistake in first place. with that stop they "had" to give that 1point and caution to the Cuban which could win the match for him. but they probably gave that 2 pts to Cox to make up for that early mistake. terrible terrible officiating. btw Cox somehow got robbed in semifinal against the naturalized Russian wrestler (representing Turkey) they had to make up for that.
  11. well, even if Cho wins the semifinal, he has to beat Obame and the loser of Shokin-Issoufou , not going to happen here.
  12. And for the first time ever our male team will leave the Olympics without a medal. right when we thought we have our best ever team this time, we got our worst ever results. I don't know what to say , they were great for 2-3 years but saved their worst for the Olympics , when it matters.
  13. This is the first freestyle gold after 16 years. I knew he will become a great wrestler one day but this year he wasn't in my "gold medal favorite" list. but this kid is something special also congrats for Rahimi and his bronze, after 4 years of hard work he deserves an Olympic medal. but seriously I believe he could win the gold if they had scouted Higuchi . he had no clue about the Japanese in first 2-3 minutes, he started his comeback a bit late.
  14. because that wasn't a "real" challenge, that was a dirty tactic by Russia. The Russian coach knew Geduev was going to give up the takedown so he tried to throw the challenge to get the action stopped. Fortunately the ref ignored it. the last call wasn't even questionable. that was a takedown in middle of that mat !
  15. Even though I'm sad Khodabakhshi is out for bronze but I'm somehow happy the traitor Beigi lost the semifinal . he had beaten Lutalo by 12pts gap before but he lost when it matters, after all he is still Iranian and couldn't handle the pressure
  16. This is really sad, someone who born and raised in Iran, who was training with the national team until last year, someone who improved only by money our federation invested on him, last year he didn't make the NT only because he lost to Khodabakhshi by one point, but we knew how good he is. and now he beat our gold medal hope like this. (even his today coach was Iranian) this is not fair.
  17. Oh well, these past 4 days was nightmare but at least a reason to be happy. I was hoping for a gold from her but bronze is still good. I lost hope when she was down by 5pts against Thailand in repechage but Taekwondo is such an unpredictable sport. I would like to see Asemani on podium alongside her. that was interesting to see two Iranian girls on the same podium but well she wasn't lucky.
  18. well since our athletes (specifically our wrestlers) are getting terrible results, I'm done predicting but if you are asking about Indian wrestlers, I don't see them medal tomorrow, but who knows, bronze is not impossible for 74kg Yadav but it will be really hard for him. he has to win 3-4 close matches to achieve that.
  19. Now this is official that Salimi will get the same prize money as gold medal winners ! as far as I remember, he is the 3rd athlete to get such prize money without actually winning the gold, Miresmaeili 2004 and Abdevali 2012.
  20. Hard to believe this is only the first medal for Bulgaria, congrats but what a mistake it was, the Argentinian could pin her if she had 2-3 more seconds at the end of the 1st period.
  21. 3 years of dominating the world, 3 years of hard try and then one dumb mistake cost him everything, what the hell was that, he could score whenver he want but instead he decided to set on 3 points and "manage" the match against the weakest athlete here, then dang at the buzzer. this is unbelievable , only 4 medals so far ! and our world champions are falling like flies
  22. I never liked Salimi, and will never like him but seriously this guy had an ACL surgery few months ago, he tried his life to recover in time for Rio. and they screwed him up like this. well, this Olympic is getting disastrous
  23. The Jury overturned their call well from what i hear from weightlifting experts , his 1st attempt was OK , jury didn't overturn this "wrong" decision. his 2nd attempt was a foul , refs somehow wrongly accepted it but jury overturned the decision. even his 2nd attempt could be a "good lift" but his 1st attempt was good lift for sure.
  24. oh well well. what a terrible day, what a terrible day, first wrestling and now this, we knew he has problems in CJ, since he had a knee surgery few months ago. but he lifted that damn weight twice. at least his 1st attempt looked fine to me. btw they would never let us win 3 gold medals in weightlifting but still he deserved silver today. also our coach was stupid, he didn't have to start with 245 !
  25. They didn't caution the Serb even once ! unbelievable , they always caution both wrestlers at least once in low scoring matches, this one was unbelievable even in UWW standards, they knew Armenian will score on par terre , they didn't even let him be on top even once,
