  1. for the all round only the first vault is considered so her score for the all round remains 15.066...................... but the avg is considered for the vault individual where she will definitely make the grade
  2. if i remember right ...for the all around only the first vault is considered ................ the 2nd vault is considered for the vault individual qualification
  3. as usual on vault outstanding .................. as you can see it is the best performance today om vault ..... vault is a tough ... a small mistake and she could crash to a lower score ...so it is good ...now her uneven bars in the world she just got 10.00 ...................
  4. dipa 15.066 on the vault ...just .033 less than she got in the worlds ...... her score is exactly same as worlds as of now ....let us see what she gets in her non favorite apparatus .......uneven and beam........let us pray she does not fall on either .................
  5. last time she performed really poorly in the uneven bars ....I think she fell of twice ....... if she gets a reasonable 11+ there she should be in a safe zone
  6. dipas world scores were the first is the vault , the second the uneven bars , the third balance beam and the fourth the floor ... 49.96 was her total if she crosses 50.5 she should be safe KARMAKAR, DIPA IND 15.100 10.000 12.333 12.533 49.966
  7. dipa gets 12.566 on the floor ...reasonable score ...last time ( at the worlds ) she fell of the uneven and lost a lot of points she needs to focus on that
  8. dipa gets 12.566 on the floor ...reasonable score ...last time ( at the worlds ) she fell of the uneven and lost a lot of points she needs to focus on that
  9. check it out here ...live results are streaming http://www.fig-gymnastics.com/publicdir/live_results/14829/ART/qual/qual_wag_aa.php
  10. actually Indian mens team is ranked 18th as per ittf http://www.ittf.com/ittf_ranking/ittf_team_ranking.html from the sixteen team quotas remove 3 countries who will be below us in rank ( NAmerica . Latin America and Africa ) who will be below us ( this is assuming Host country quota is added back and brazil tops which is likely to do ) we need to be in the top 13 positions in terms of countries who have two quota places now let us remove the surefire names Germany Portugal Japan Korea China Sweden so it depends on the next 7 seats ........................so it depends on the remaining countries getting 2 quota places based on european qualification / ittf ranking France / Austria / russia / poland/ Croatia / czech / denmark / taiwan/ greece / england ... if any four of these countries do not get 2 quota places we will get a team quota ,..... of these only russia has single quota ( with three quota places left in europe and then ranking places ) ... I feel quite a few of these countries will not get a second quota .......................so India has a reasonable chance
  11. Sharath has a comparitively easier final match but mouma faces the korean who is ranked 35 or so ...... so would be tough but I would be interested even if she loses she has another chance I am not sure who is there in the other draw but seems to give her a decent chance .........
  12. I hope I do not sound pedantic but India has had gymnasts in the olympics before .. I think we had 2 in the 1952 olympics and 3 at the 1956 olympics ..... but we have never had a better gymnast than Dipa ..... so more power to her
  13. sharath has obviously lost to some degree on purpose ...losing the last two sets consistently after wining three ... I think he is try to go thru the second round ( asian ) ...where he will find it very difcciult but then will almost defintely get thru on the world ranking area ... This is his quote World No 61 Sharath, who’s Olympic ranking of 39 all but confirms his place in the extravaganza, concedes the regional development looks a tad messy on paper. “It’s confusing, but yeah, it’s just us. I’m not sure why other teams are not participating. Maybe they don’t want to spend money without a chance of returns. I should eventually qualify no matter what... it’s more like a formality. But if I qualify on the South Asia quota, then Ghosh will be hard pressed to accomplish a berth on the Asian continental quota,” he tells Express. This makes it almost certain that we will have 2 member mens team ... In fact with a team ranking of 17 ... there is a reasonable possibility of a mens team to be there in the onlympics in men ???
  14. If soumyajit or any of the others qualify ... sharath is almost certain to get in through the world ranking ...he is effectively 39 currently ..................... so it may be better if one of the others qualify but then he cannot pull out as there is a slight chance that he may not get in through the world ranking ..................
  15. possibly she is nursing an injury and does not want to over strain it ...........
  16. Thanks ...did not know about this rule ...... but I have a feeling both men events may qualify....................... but due to the rule the NOC may have to take a call on whom they will confirm ... probably single sculls ...... and due to the rule the chances of women single sculls improves ...........
  17. Guys it would be nice if on a weekly basis Maybe on Sunday ...one of the group members could update all the key Olympic events of the week for India At least ( as the chase is hotting up for quotas ) ......... am missing totally olympics list ....... I am trying to get a start on this - Key events of the next two weeks ( 10-24 th April ) for Indian Olympic Interest This week Badminton - Singapore Open ( starts 12th April ) - Maybe the last chance for the Indian men to get a second qualifier ....... Kashyap , Ajay and Prannoy still have a slim chance , Saina to get back into peak form and increase her ranking for seeding at the olympics and try to be in the top 4 ........ Sindhu again to push to be in the top 8, Table tennis ( thanks tirtha ) - Asian qualification - 13th April -Sure fire 1man , 1 women , In fact if sharath loses , he may get an entry through the ranking process Shooting - ISSF World cup at Rio ( starts 13th April ) - A chance to check Rio conditions for Indias Rio Squad Gymnastics - The all important Gymanstic test event at Rio - ( Starts April 16th ) - DIpa is There - .....................enuff said Next week Badminton ( starts 19th ) - China masters - see Singapore open comments Athletics - ( Starts 20th April ) Federation Cup at Delhi - Hopefully to see an improvement in the relay squad and also maybe for one or two more quotas Wrestling - ( starts 22th April ) - 1st Olympic qualification tournament - with 3 places available - Hopefully the light weights in Greco ( Ravinder and Ravinder ) and 56 Kgs in Freestyle- amit / Rahul , satyawrat Kadian in FS 97 and Vinesh, babita to qualify in womens lower weights Rowing- Starts 23rd April - Asian regatta - Almost surefire chance for single sculls male , decent chances for lightweight double sculls men , very long shot womens single sculls do add any other events which are coming up
  18. as of the latest golf rankings for the olympics ... Indian men anirban -27 and SSP chowrawsia - 41 look comfortable within 60 places ....... In women aditi ashok holds on to a precarious 58th place as of now
  19. Bangaldesh siddikur rahman holding on to the 60th place in the mens individual list ( out of 60 ) ....hopes he holds on .......
  20. looks like that gold medal jinx looks over
  21. now make that 7 straight losses.....unfortunately saina seems to get a couple of players she does not figure out ..Li now Tai Tzu
  22. Indias second male quota in the MS looks down the drain ........................... poor year and no one in form .......................... and kashyap injured....... so It looks like we will have only one qualifier
  23. she plays tai tzu ....saina has lost 6 in row to her ......................... so tough match tomorrow
  24. Vinod comes from Sonepat in Haryana where during his initial days as a wrestler, he trained under the same wrestling coach as Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt, India's wrestling stars.................. he came to australia 6 years ago ....so to some extent he has developed in australia ..............
  25. Personally I think this sub quota system for Asia is fairly ridiculous ...especially as East Asia has China / Japan / South Korea / North Korea all seem to fall in one group ... that is like saying USA/ Jamaica / Trinidad/ Bahamas / Rest of Caribbean is one group and only one 100 metre athlete will selected...... while the other group comprises Peru/ Colombia / chile and one 100 meter athlete will be selected from them .............. The regions are so different it is funny .......................................... read the lists of each table tennis players from each group here http://ittf.com/Ol_Qual/2016AS/2016_AQT_Entries.pdf then check the ranking here ............................ http://www.ittf.com/ittf_ranking/ I think they should take at least the top 16 from the world championships first , then get into continental selections without sub groups .............
