    Igor Denisov injured in friendly between Russia and Serbia... He will be replaced in squad. Cheryshev, Kuzmin, Zhirkov, Dzagoev and now Denisov. Russia lost 5 injured players before Euro 2016. Dzagoev and Denisov are keys players in a midfield. It looks like 1/8 is our maximum.

    Any medal will be a great result for Russian team. Contenders are too strong. In general this sport has started to grow up in Russia after canoeing federation was divided into two federations in 2006. One for sprint and the other for slalom.

    There was discussion about Eigel and Maxim Shabanov. Coaches chose Eigel. For Kuznetsov/Larionov it will be the last Olympics. They think in Tokyo 2020 men's C2 replaced women's C1.

    Ex-German Roman Neustadter officialy received his passport and now can play at Euro 2016 for Russia. Source So there are three players in Russia's squad who changed their citizenships. Ex-Brazilian goalkeeper Guilherme received Russian citizenship on November 2015. Ex-Greek goalkeeper Yuri Lodygin received Russian citizenship on June 2013.
