  1. Ireland and New Zealand are in Building 28
  2. I really don't know how we will do this time but as always boxing will be the sport that will probably decide how successful we are. I think 3 medals is a realistic result, so one of each colour (1-1-1) might be the most realistic to predict. Our big chances are as follows: I am hoping at least one of this group can claim gold: Katie Taylor (women's -60kg boxing) Michael Conlan (men's -56kg boxing) Paddy Barnes (men's -49kg boxing) Joe Ward (men's -81kg boxing) Outside of those four, our medal chances are not so strong, probably these are our best outside hopes: Michael O'Reilly (men's -75kg boxing) Brendan Irvine (men's -52kg boxing) Daniel Martin (men's road race cycling) Men's Lightweight Double Sculls (rowing) Sanita Puspure (women's single sculls rowing) If any of those 5 achieved a medal if would be a surprise, though probably unlikely to happen. And we have very small chances in team eventing, men's modern pentathlon, individual showjumping and golf.... but these chances are so slim. So I'm sticking to a prediction of 3 medals, one of each colour.
  3. I've finally found some information! Ireland are sharing a block with New Zealand . I'm so happy with this news
  4. I guess that's a typo in the schedule on August 13th? It lists times for men's team foil but it should be women's team sabre. Men's team foil is on August 12th.
  5. I still haven't found who is sharing Block 28 with Ireland
  6. Sindo did indeed have some magic up his sleeve and I retrieved everything back and only had to do a few re-edits.... phew!!
  7. Wow, for a moment I thought his name was Swimmer and that he was a swimmer, that would have been awesome His name however is Aminath Shajan, which is nice too
  8. The post is empty when I try to edit it. I have no idea why that happened.
  9. Days 3 and 4 have disappeared for some unknown reason after I edited them. Hopefully Sindo can work some magic and revive them
  10. Thanks for the links, very useful! About the rowing, I don't think I'll add times for every heat of each event, just the block of time that each event will be staged during that day.
  11. I've updated the schedule with a more detailed event schedule for shooting and rowing and updated the new water polo schedule. If there are any further detailed schedules made available please let me know and I will add them.
  12. So the results of the TISC questionnaire have been compiled and here is how the TISC community expressed their opinions: Question 1: What was your impression of the rule change introduced for TISC Open Contests in 2015? (a) I liked it and would like all TISC Open Contests in the foreseeable future to continue with that rule (b) I am still unsure of the merits but would like to give this rule another year at least (c) I would prefer to re-examine that rule with a view to change the time restriction for TISC Open 2016 (d) I would prefer to abolish the rule change and go back to the original format with no restriction in terms of release date Results: (a) 14.5 (b) 8.5 (c) 2 (d) 1 These results convey the fact that a majority of TISC members who took part in the survey are happy with the current format for TISC Open Contests in regards to the 5-year exclusion rule. The next highest opinion expressed was in favour of option (b) with those respondents in favour of at least one more year with the current rule. So I think unless there is a huge change of opinion after the next TISC Open event we can continue with the current format for another couple of editions. Question 2: How should TISC contests be organised in terms of hosting? (a) The previous winner should always have the first option to host the contest (b) It should always be open to all bidders regardless of who won the previous contest Results: (a) 23.5 (b) 2.5 Opinion expressed in the question of hosting is overwhelmingly in favour of continuing with the current rule whereby the winner has the first option of hosting the next edition. If they cannot fulfill hosting duties then a bidding contest will decide the next host. Thanks to all who participated in the TISC questionnaire survey. TISC goes into hibernation now and we will have all eyes glued on Rio 2016. Best of luck to all our nations at the Olympics and see you all back here in the autumn for TISC Open 2016 from Lithuania
  13. Thank you, best of luck to Slovensko also
  14. Ok, so I discovered we are in Block 28.... now to find out who else is in the same block
  15. How can you find who is sharing buildings? I would like to know who will have the privilege of the Irish company
  16. Good luck Sindo and Totallympics for the huge period ahead for us I just wanted to offer my opinion on one thing: I think it might be more constructive to have some deterrent for users posting inflammatory comments. At the moment, if a user posts something blatantly inflammatory then their post simply gets deleted (maybe I'm wrong, but that's all user see that happens anyway). This in turn makes it more likely for another user to respond in kind, possibly out of frustration and the lack of a deterrent.... if User A can write something nasty without a punishment, then User B, C, D, E might think about doing the same in the knowledge that the posts will simply get deleted but they have in the meantime satisfied their ego. If there are no repercussions to constantly dragging threads into petty fights then we are going to see it happen all the time. I don't think it's a particular problem right now and indeed punishments or not, I still would not engage in that type of "tit for tat" but I think having at least some procedure in place in terms of what happens to users if they keep posting in a style where their comments need to be deleted to prevent a thread being side-tracked would be a good thing. But I would add that being at the other end of the spectrum of being too harsh and quick with punishments would be equally damaging and undermine the great tone we have in our forum.

  18. I'm sure many Icelanders would be satisfied after Ronaldo's comments about their team
  19. I doubt they will either.... so we miss out by 0.07. Ugh, I hate these constant near misses. This cycle has been really hard to be an Irish fan with all these near misses . It's been a gloomy 2 years.
  20. It's very important for Ireland to know . It's sad for us, we had a terrible year of injuries and should have been comfortably in the top 16
