  1. Our female flag bearer last time, Kellie Harrington, went on to win a gold medal. Sometimes lesser known athletes are chosen for the honour and other times the honour goes to our biggest name, it varies. I think it's similar in most countries.
  2. My picks would be: Ciara Mageean (Athletics) Paul O'Donovan (Rowing) I can't think of anyone more deserving or fitting for this honour than Ciara Mageean. Everything she achieves in her career, her national pride is just bursting through in her interviews and she is just a top human being. For the men's I would actually love to give it to Rhys McClenaghan but since he competes on Day 1, it is unlikely and would be unwise. Paul O'Donovan has achieved everything in his rowing career so this honour would be absolutely deserved!
  3. They will have to wait for another 4 years to try again Uruguay wins 36-26!
  4. I can help with creating the entries table if you like? Or if there’s anything else you would like created just let me know
  5. Wow 3 quotas here for is more than I had hoped for! I was hoping for at least 1 and that we might sneak 2 so to get 3 is wonderful
  6. Great news! I’ve quite a few updates to make since I last updated our qualification tracker a few weeks ago
  7. Happy birthday @hckošice and @SteveParker. Hope you both had a good one

  9. I'm pretty sure @hckošice and Séamus got drunk and trashed a venue in Richmond last time so it still remains to be seen if we will be allowed back into the country
  10. TISC Returns to the USA! It is my great pleasure to formally announce the United States as the host of TISC Open 2023! . @Olympian1010 was the sole bid this time and it means TISC will return to the USA for a second time, 5 years after they first hosted TISC Open 2018. We are all excited to see what America has in store for us and we wish our hosts the very best of luck on their organisation of what will surely be another great contest!
  11. Just 95 minutes left before it becomes official and then you can start submitting your VISA application
  12. TISC Open 2023 Bidding Process: We are officially open to receiving bids to host the upcoming Totallympics Open International Song Contest 2023. TISC Open 2023 winners France, along with runners-up Sweden and 3rd-placed Netherlands have all declined the hosting rights meaning we will go to an open-bid process to find our next TISC host. Bidding will remain open until Friday 15th, September, 23:00 GMT so anyone interested please post on thread before then. If we receive multiple bids, a draw will take place to decide who the next host will be. The official draw will take place on Saturday, 16th September 15:00 GMT. Thanks to @Olympian1010 for putting his hat into the ring TISC Open 2023 Host Candidates: United States Details of the bidding process can be found here:
  13. Thank you everyone for all the well wishes, I am blown away by your kindness. I am glad to be back again too . As for TISC, it looks like we need to open up for bids so if you're interested throw your hat into the ring! @Olympian1010 I didn't miss that you have already said you would like to bid If there is anyone else who would like to bid please write here in this thread. If we get multiple bids, we can do a draw this Friday 15th September. Hopefully that gives people enough time to notice the thread and then give the new host enough time to prepare to host the contest. I'll post some details later about the bidding process.
  14. Hi everyone, I’m so sorry for all your worry. I just had a few things going on offline but everything is ok. I’ll catch up with everything later today and I have not forgotten TISC. Thanks again for your concern, I feel embarrassed now.
  15. Thanks for all your efforts @Laraja on updating the Olympic rankings, appreciate your hard work
  16. There will be a full programme swim-off between and for the 16th place to see who advances to the semis.
  17. For those saying they’d like to get rid of football in favour of beach soccer, I only agree with removing men’s football. Women’s football has a valid spot at the Olympics for me and would like to see it stay.
  18. Both our medley relay teams finished in 13th place. Hopefully it might be enough to qualify for the Olympics but it will be tight. Also I’m hoping today is the day Ireland wins its first ever medal at the Aquatics World Championships
  19. The only issues I would have with cricket (T20) coming into the Games are if the number of teams is 4-5.... needs to be at least 8 to an be acceptable competition for me and also if it takes away quotas at the expense of other sports which it would unless they do a radical u-turn on the athlete quota. I don't watch cricket, it's never appealed to me, though the T20 and ODI 50-over formats are much more interesting than Test cricket for me (I have never watched a single Test match).
  20. Daniel Wiffen achieved the OQT in the men’s 1500m freestyle, advancing as 2nd fastest qualifier for the final in 14:43.50 mins.
