    My comment about Semenya honestly stems from my frustration that she usually ends up beating out a Canadian (Bishop). Like it or not, she has incredibly high levels of testosterone, and it is incredibly unfair to have her race against other women. The being said, it would be equally as unfair for her to have her race men. She does of course identify as a woman, but her genetic makeup makes her far more physically developed than those women she's competing against. I respect her courageousness, but her victories are a little tainted in my eyes.

    What a shitty world championships all around. Disappointments a plenty. Really tough to watch the Canadian team struggle. As a nation that probably falls in the top 10 in the world in athletics, sucks to leave with no medals. Chalk it up to injuries and bad luck, but I expect to see Canadians back on form in Doha.

    I remember reading an article that they want Canada to be a medal contender in women's field hockey by 2020. Definitely doable with a high level of funding and a pretty solid grassroots level for the sport within the country already in existence.

    Boy am I excited for 2020. Potential for multiple golds from DeGrasse and Oleksiak, canoeing and Brooke Henderson, not to mention up and coming stars waiting in the wings.

    All around great finishes tonight for Canada athletics. Bishop and the women's 4x400 relay 4th, and Ahmed 5th before being disqualified.

    I think Canada could very well come close to our record of 22 medals in Atlanta. Hopefully things can turn out for the relay, Henderson, DeJonge, women's soccer, mountain bike and LaMaze.
