By the way, as a person that recently has been showering Croatia with points every year, I was surprised it had been collecting so many points right now, so I went back to listen to it and remember why it didn't do well in my list. It was the eurobeat percussion that killed the song for me

Literally any other Vance Joy song from that album and that 11 points would've been 12 But, I can agree it's a much more better commercial pick and its proved by the fact that it's running for 1st place right now.

Good vocals, catchy melody, good instrumental. Can't really get behind Australia since I've listened to that song more than a 100 times and even performed it during gigs for endless times, so I would've been happy to see any other Vance Joy song there instead of Riptide Saying that, it hurt that nobody could overtake it for 11 points, because the love for that song just wasn't there anymore. And that's why Netherlands are in third, because they were the only other song to really deal damage due to its diversity, melody, vocals, generally standing out of the context. Everything below top 3 would've struggled to make top 12 in some years, because they're not too memorable I remember the melody of "She's a mod" better than my 4th place :/

Honestly, congratulations @mrv86, your song did not face competition from other songs and was never in trouble of going below 12 points it rarely happens for me.
