  1. Looking at the disciplines on the first day, I can confidently claim we'll be in sole possession of last place.
  2. and then all of us will hold hands in the second league forever
  3. With the final entries available now, we have an abundance of twelfth places looking at season bests: 12. Men's 400m 12. Men's 5000m 12. Women's 100m Hurdles 12. Men's 400m Hurdles 12. Women's 400m Hurdles 12. Women's Pole Vault 12. Women's Long Jump 12. Women's Hammer Throw 12. 4x400 Men even without the SBs A lot of 11s and 10s all around as well.
  4. So, the team from Lithuania is finally clear: Fairly weak entries from 100m, Šerkšnienė is recovering after an injury, weak women's 1500/3000/5000 and men's 5000, tragic women's 100m Hurdles and only third best Lithuanian for 400m. Hurdles, not very good for the men's side either. Bad 3000m SC from the women, and the high jump, Baikštytė is injured. Don't need to say anything about Pole Vault, Gedrimas might get something better now that he jumped 5.00. Second/third best athletes for both long jumps and weak male triple jumper. Throwers are overall fine, except that Gudžius is not participating, on the other hand, our women's hammer is now capable of 60m, not 48, so that's nice. 4x400 women's relay should do well, other relays, well, not so much. 100 m Karolina Deliautaitė 100 m Kostas Skrabulis 200 m Agnė Šerkšnienė 200 m Gediminas Truskauskas 400 m Modesta Justė Morauskaitė 400 m Rokas Pacevičius 800 m Eglė Balčiūnaitė 800 m Benediktas Mickus 1500 m Monika Elenska 1500 m Simas Bertašius 3000 m Loreta Kančytė 3000 m Simas Bertašius 5000 m Loreta Kančytė 5000 m Egidijus Adomkaitis 100 m b/b Gabrielė Čeponytė 110 m b/b Rapolas Saulius 400 m b/b Erika Krūminaitė 400 m b/b Rapolas Saulius/Artūras Janauskas 3000 m kl/b Evelina Miltenė 3000 m kl/b Justinas Beržanskis Šuolis į aukštį Urtė Baikštytė Šuolis į aukštį Adrijus Glebauskas Šuolis su kartimi Vitalija Dejeva Šuolis su kartimi Osvaldas Gedrimas Šuolis į šolį Augustė Regalaitė Šuolis į šolį Marius Vadeikis Trišuolis Dovilė Kilty Trišuolis Paulius Svarauskas Rutulio stūmimas Ieva Zarankaitė Rutulio stūmimas Šarūnas Banevičius Ieties metimas Liveta Jasiūnaitė Ieties metimas Edis Matusevičius Disko metimas Ieva Zarankaitė Disko metimas Aleksas Abromavičius Kūjo metimas Agnė Lukoševičiūtė Kūjo metimas Tomas Vasiliauskas 4x100 m Karolina Deliautaitė 4x100 m Kostas Skrabulis Augustė Regalaitė Gediminas Truskauskas Aistė Unskinaitė Giedrius Rupeika Gunda Jakimavičiūtė Mantas Šeštokas Agnė Šerkšnienė Valentinas Bukovskis 4x400 m Agnė Šerkšnienė 4x400 m Rokas Pacevičius Modesta Justė Morauskaitė Benediktas Mickus Eglė Balčiūnaitė Darius Križanovskij Erika Krūminaitė Einius Trumpa Artūras Janauskas Rinktinės vadovė: Nijolė Medvedeva Valentinas Bukovskis
  5. Don't worry, you'll get the news as soon as I know
  6. I'm insulted you didn't make fun of our pole vaulters...
  7. We are definitely saying goodbye to this league. Gudžius will not be starting, Palšytė injured, that's already at least 20 points right there. The team is going to be announced today, but a lot of our leaders are not going to be present, so it feels as if we're not even trying this time.
  8. Oh jesus That's me on zero sleep and javelin throw on my mind.
  9. Anyways, I promised you an update on the Lithuanian Championships and I think it's fair to say that it was one of the best championships for Lithuania with so many brilliant achievements. First and foremost, as it was already mentioned in the Olympic thread, Edis Matusevičius threw the javelin with the mark of 89.17. This is a new Lithuanian record by more than 4 metres, an Olympic qualifying mark as well as the 3rd best mark in the world right now. It was not the only record to fall, the women's hammer throw record from 2007 was already broken unoficially this year by two different women. Now, it is finally official as Agnė Lukoševičiūtė threw the hammer 60.48 and broke the old record by over 6 metres. Another historical result was Osvaldas Gedrimas in Pole Vault, jumping 5.00. It's been 28 years since the last time anybody from Lithuania jumped 5 metres. The long awaited battle between Dzindzaletaitė and Zagainova ended with Dzindzaletaitė winning by 8cm, although both jumped slightly less than 14 metres. On the first day, Adrijus Glebauskas jumped 2.28 in high jump, which pretty much solidified his quota to World Championships. Andrius Gudžius threw the discus with a mark of 67.73, slowly getting back on form after his injury. Ieva Zarankaitė threw a PB in the discus of 58.25 and qualified to the European Championships. Lastly, our 43yo veteran Indrė Jakubaitytė threw the javelin with a mark of 56.97, if she throws a bit further, she may qualify to the European Championships and I honestly don't even have a clue anymore how many she attented, she is a legend.
  10. This Friday-Saturday, the Lithuanian Championships are going to start with every big name on the startlist, except Airinė Palšytė that's out with an injury for the time being. I won't be able to catch a minute of it, so I'll update on Sunday if anything noteworthy happens.
  11. Viktorija Andrulytė becomes the seventh athlete to qualify to the Olympics for Lithuania As of now, it is three in Athletics, two in Swimming, 1 Modern Pentathlon, Sailing.
  12. I don't know, nothing of that sort happened to me Perhaps I'm a translation magician, but my magic only works on others and not myself.
  13. Danas Rapšys answered two questions to Lithuanian journalists, I'll do my best to translate: „Neįsivaizduoju... Something could have happened only at the start, but I have no idea, what I could have done. It will be interesting to watch. I don't know what else to tell you. I even managed to get a good time, but what's done is done. I felt good, the time was great, but what can you do... It is also mentioned that we tried to appeal the disqualification but to no avail.
  14. Being from the same country as Meilutytė, I have trust issues in expecting good results from athletes, just because they're performing well now. That's why I'm more hopeful with the ECH, seeing as China, Japan, Australia are not going to be present and that should give enough leverage for Danas to get a medal even if he is underperforming in 2020 season Not going to speculate too much about the Olympics until I see that Spring form
  15. Anyways, Danas' disqualification was due to a twitch before the start, as someone has already mentioned. There is no news in our media about an appeal, the results were made official somewhat 20 minutes after the start, so not really sure if we even tried to appeal or had the chance to. Some people claiming he's rude for not having stopped to talk with the media as he breezes past them pissed off The biggest surprise to me, honestly, is that I always thought Meilutytė would be the one to get herself disqualified in a race with high pressure due to her godly reaction times. Lastly, although it's a sad affair, those twitches did not really give him any advantages in the pool, so he proved that he is capable of winning and I hope that his chance comes. Perhaps he breaks his PB in 200m backstroke for a surprise medal? If not, European Championships, in which China can't compete is going to be the next best chance for him.
  16. Could have been even better if women's discus worked out as expected.
  17. And Galvydytė ran a SB of under 59s in the 400m Hurdles. Perhaps she goes even further in the semi-final, would be great to have another finalist.
  18. Congratulations Van De Velde on being annoying af Finally some good news for Lithuania though as Valinčius qualifies to the 3000m SC final and Alekna should be safe for the Discus final as well now
  19. Yes, Martynas Alekna is participating in U20 and his younger brother Mykolas is going to start in the Olympic Youth Festival. They also have a younger sister already in athletics as well.
  20. Oooph, this seems like it's going to be a disaster for Lithuania. Starting off with three of our good athletes injured, followed by one of the favourites Juškevičiūtė with a disaster in the Heptahlon hurdles followed by NM in high jump. Last place and under 12 metres for our triple jumper. Last place in women's discus throw in about 50 minutes. And bottom places for our shot putters fairly soon. Only Alekna, Andriukaitytė and Galvydytė can save this championship now and the girls both are having an off-season
