  1. Tes Schouten swam 2.23,28 200m breaststroke (NR!) at a race in Paris (Giant Tour), but I don't see that race in any of the lists here, so can I conclude that this time does not count for Olympic qualification?
  2. The Barkley Marathon is such a weird niche in the world of sport and I'm incredibly intrigued by the concept, and the crazy endurance athletes that survive their attempts at it every year. The various youtube and Netflix documentaries are all recommendations. I can barely fathom that people are actually out there doing these survival challenges like the Barkley, Marathon des Sables, Moab 240, Tor des Geants and various others. They make running the 100-mile Ultra Trail de Mont-Blanc look like a piece of cake. There was a great attempt by Jasmin Paris this year as well, who became I believe the first woman to complete four loops.
  3. Fifth European title for Bouwmeester and the first one since returning from her pregnancy. It's been very impressive how quickly she has regained her fitness. Another medal in Paris is definitely a possibility for her.
  4. I agree the other hosts would have been slightly easier, but we did draw the easiest out of USA/Turkey/Dominican Republic. I could see Turkey and USA beating the two host countries.
  5. Not the worst draw possible for the Netherlands. We played a close game versus China at the world championship, if we can upset them this time, there is hope. Chances are still super slim though. In the other two pools it'll be interesting whether there's any home advantage. Otherwise I'd say Brazil, Turkey, Italy and the USA are the favorites.
  6. Wow the Athletics evening sessions got even more expensive, ranging from € 125 tot € 980 for the sessions that are exclusive to this round. I was considering adding Femke Bol's 400mH final to our trip if we got a favorable draw, but that's a bit too much for me.
  7. I haven't seen the official rules for the ranking anywhere, but based on the current ranking with only the Doha Elite tournament I can deduce that the Elite tournaments results give the following points: 1. 1200 2. 1100 3. 1000 4. 900 5-8. 760 9-12. 600 13+. 460- This week the Pro Tour circuit starts up again with the La Paz Challenge tournament, so we should be able to easily deduce the points for Challenge tournaments as well. Based on the entry lists I'd say these are the main contenders for the podium: Men: Ahman/Hellvig, McHugh/Burnett, Boermans/De Groot Women: Hughes/Cheng, Nuss/Kloth, Sude/Schneider
  8. I hadn't even heard of this one yet. There's a lot of unrest in the Dutch team, with Knegt's repeated public complaints and Schulting visibly searching for her new role now that she's not the sole leader of the team anymore. Meanwhile Velzeboer and Van 't Wout are flourishing under Kerstholt. A new commercial team with Otter, Schulting and the Desmet siblings would have been a serious option, but apparently they couldn't find enough sponsors to make it viable.
  9. Couldn't catch much of this tournament live and only just caught up on the highlights. Super impressed by Velzeboer! I hope her and Schulting can keep making each other stronger in a healthy rivalry.
  10. I'm very impressed by the development of Belgian athletics as well. Felt like they were represented in a lot of finals and have some great talents like Noor Vidts and Rani Rosius.
  11. After about half a year of more serious training I finally ran a new PB again! 10 km in 38:45! In other news I will also slowly start to learn to be a youth trainer at our local athletics club.
  12. Did you guys know the Netherlands is a high jumping superpower nowadays?
  13. Huge differences in the women's race compared to the men's race, where all the positions shifted in the last leg. I'm looking forward to the 4x400m at Worlds. I wonder how close Bol, Klaver, Saalberg and Peeters can get to the Americans.
  14. It's crazy that a Dutch 1-2 on the 400m felt almost normal and predictable. Bol is such a blessing for Dutch athletics!
  15. Wow Jordan Stolz Just turned on the turbo in that last corner
  16. Wow having to log in to see the live results is a new low in terrible viewer experience...
  17. I see all your lists of every sport, but I'm just happy that after a busy day I sat down on my couch just in time for the final 15 km of Omloop (Road Cycling)!
  18. I was watching the national championships livestream and it was pretty hilarious. All day you're watching athletes, mostly juniors, competing mostly for a title and a PB and in some rare cases the European indoor qualification mark. Then suddenly you're watching a world record run.
  19. Congratz @OlympicIRL! I hope all your favorite sessions are still available as well!
  20. FEMKE BOL 49,26 400M INDOOR A new world record at the Dutch National Championship, what a moment!
  21. Sorry I can't check specific events for you, only my friends account can log into the ticket system. Generally speaking the cheapest tickets (category D) are sold out in many sessions. Their stock also seems pretty small looking at the stadium layouts. For beach volleyball and athletics category C was also sold out in some sessions. For our athletics session on friday morning only category A tickets were available.
  22. Thank you! We are considering getting another ticket for the thursday, maybe volleyball, track cycling or climbing. But another three session pack is too much for us. Right now I'm just really happy with what we've got!
  23. Once you select your first session a 30 minute timer starts to finish your order. The timer resets when you change your first session.
  24. We got the tickets we wanted! 6 August: Beach Volleyball QF session 7 August: Hockey (w) SF session 9 August: Athletics morning session Really pleased with this pack! The friday morning session has by far the most possible Dutch contenders of the morning sessions: 4x400m relays, Nadine Visser, Anouk Vetter and Tony van Diepen! Some observations about the ticket system: The website was really smooth, no crashes at all and very responsive in adding or removing sessions. There was some unwritten rule about combining finals sessions within a ticket pack, like @Atma said. We mostly noticed this with athletics. When we tried selecting the evening session, knockout rounds for other sports were no longer an option (only tried beach volleyball and hockey). Only the cheaper tickets were sold out for the sports we checked, categories A and B were available for even the athletics evening sessions. Only the category of your seats is known, there is no seat selection or assigned seat yet.
