  1. Last day of pools tomorrow. No major upsets so far really https://en.volleyballworld.com/beachvolleyball/competitions/beach-volleyball-world-championships-rome-2022/schedule/
  2. World cup in Leogang this weekend: Women: 1. Leona Lecomte 2. Jenny Rissveds 3. Laura Stigger Men: 1. Mathias Flückiger 2. Nino Schurter 3. Alan Hatherly Jenny Rissveds really is back at the top level this season with another podium finish! Looks like Pidcock wasn't there on the mens side.
  3. Lucas van Klaveren scores a huge PB in the NCAA championships: 8105 points. 4th place at the championships and the 12th Dutch decathlete ever over 8000 points. The decathlon was won by Ayden Owens-Delerme with 8457 points.
  4. Last I heard she had a mental dip after Tokyo and is now taking a slightly longer preparation before racing again.
  5. Had a great experience in Hengelo today at the FBK games! Highlights for me were both the 400m hurdles and for some reason the javelin.
  6. Jurmala, Latvia Elite tournament Women: 1. Pavan/Melissa 2. Barbara/Carol 3. Duda/Ana Patricia Men: 1. Nicolai/Cottafava 2. Cherif/Ahmed 3. Andre/George Two completely different podiums in the two weeks leading up to the world championships happening in two weeks. Next stop: Rome, Italy World Championships 10-19 June AND Vlissingen, Netherlands European U22 Championships 9-12 June
  7. Sydney McLaughlin ran a 51.90 400mH, 3rd all-time time. But apparently two hurdles were not in the right place so it might not be ratified (homologated??)
  8. 50.90 PB for Lieke Klaver in the 400m, even if that was only 4th place in the race. Doesn't change her place in the Dutch all-time list, as Lisanne de Witte (50.77) and Femke Bol (50.37) have both ran faster.
  9. And my personal favorite straight after: Monday - Fanny Blankers-Koen Games, Hengelo
  10. I'll be watching some live sports next weekend at the FBK Games (athletics)! Other than that I've been watching the Giro almost daily, watching various athletics meets, beach volleyball livescores, mountainbiking and football.
  11. Ostrava, Czech Republic Elite tournament Women: 1. Müller/Tillmann 2. Talita Rebecca 3. Hüberli/Brunner Men: 1. Mol/Sorum 2. Perusic/Schweiner 3. Brouwer/Meeuwsen Feels like whenever Stam/Schoon get knocked out in quarters, it's by one of the Swiss teams. Next stop: Jurmala, Latvia Elite tournament 1-5 June
  12. Convincing win for Warner. Nice PB decathlon for Taam after a strong 1500m.
  13. NR and WL heptathlon for Anouk Vetter with 6693 points! Results: 1. Anouk Vetter 6693 points PB/NR/WL 2. Adrianna Sulek 6429 points PB 3. Vanessa Grimm 6323 points PB An impressive 11th place for Sofie Dokter, 19 year old with PB's in 6 out of 7 events for 6090 points. Also a 6260 points PB for 22yo Holly Mills at 6th place.
  14. Wow! Vetter is having a great second day and a great heptathlon. After winning the long jump and this incredible javeling PB, she's now leading the overall with just the 800m to go. I haven't been watching today, but Kendell Williams didn't register a distance in javelin? Might be an injury?
  15. And Oosterwegel comes back in contention at javelin
  16. Götzis after day 1: Decathlon: 1. Simon Ehammer 2. Damian Warner 3. Lindon Victor Heptathlon: 1. Adrianna Sulek 2. Anouk Vetter 3. Kendell Williams Following these combined events is always a puzzle, but a lot of fun every once in a while. Livescores available at: https://meeting-goetzis.at/live-resultate
  17. Simon Ehammer with a huge 8.45m long jump, new Decathlon world record. I'm no field event expert, but that looked worthy of individual long jump medals, way ahead of the rest of the field.
  18. https://tvthek.orf.at/live/Mehrkampfmeeting-Goetzis-2022-Tag-1/14173098 Practicing my German by watching the Götzis coverage today. Go Vetter & Oosterwegel
  19. After three Olympic Games for Richard Murray will now try to qualify for his fourth OG for . He's married to Dutch triathlete Rachel Klamer and already lives in the Netherlands for most of his time. He has a fun youtube channel for anyone interested:
  20. Kusadasi, Turkey Challenge Tournament Women: 1. Kloth/Nuss 2. Clancy/Mariafe 3. Cannon/Sponcil Men: 1. Ahman/Hellvig 2. McHugh/Burnett 3. Wickler/Ehlers Very limited field this week compared to other challenge tournaments, most teams are likely preparing for the two elite tournaments coming up the next weeks. Still a very impressive win by the young Ahman/Hellvig, their first senior win after previously taking silver in the 2018 YOG and gold the U21 world championship. Next stop: Ostrava, Czech Republic 25-29 May
  21. Third world cup Nove Mesto and third victory for Rebecca McConnell. Women: 1. Rebbeca McConnell 2. Loana Lecomte 3. Jenny Rissveds Men: 1. Thomas Pidcock 2. Vlad Dascalu 3. Nino Schurter Nearly the same top 3s as last week, it's clear right now that McConnell and Pidcock are in the best form.
  22. Good work @dcro! A team race is a great way to get into running.
  23. Doha, Qatar Challenge Tournament Women: 1. Barbara/Carol 2. Laboureur/Schulz 3. Hüberli/Brunner Men: 1. Bryl/Losiak 2. Nicolai/Cottafava 3. Ermacora/Pristauz Hometown favorites Cherif/Ahmed got knocked out surprisingly in the ro16 by qualifiers Grimalt/Grimalt. Also the first Beach Pro Tour without Stam/Schoon medaling, after getting knocked out in the QF by Hüberli/Brunner. Next stop: Kusadasi, Turkey Challenge Tournament 19-22 May
  24. Thank you! I didn't know the official website already had more information. Does anyone have experience with the 'tickets packs'? Are they predetermined combinations of events to visit? How do you guys imagine they will handle the draw? What will prevent people (or scalpers) from entering loads of mail accounts into the draw to skew it in their favour?
  25. Thank you! I just looked up all the locations and definitely underestimated the distances between a lot of the stadiums (and the fact that handball is only held in Lille). My favorite sports might not be easy to combine. I would probably prefer 4-7 days with 1-2 event per day and some time to enjoy the city over a full schedule of 2-3 events and lots of travelling.
