  1. Our preferred option is to go from 5 till 9 August and definitely want to see beach volleyball, athletics and hockey. Really curious how much is left on friday night.
  2. Anyone else desperately checking their mail all day? It's going to be a rough month for my F5 button...
  3. Diane van Es ran a 30:30 10K road race at the Dutch national championship today. Huge PB for her! Do road race times count for 10.000m track quotas? If so, that's below the 30:40 qualifying time.
  4. Poor Lieke Klaver running a NR indoor 200m only to see Femke Bol running in the next heat...
  5. Interesting how much of the quotas so far are in equestrian and shooting, it feels like they're the only sports I see when this thread pops up again in these early qualification days. Can't wait for qualification to start in more sports!
  6. I think they're really creative and work well as pictograms. Especially badminton, rowing and track cycling are really cool!
  7. @Sindo also tracks all the world championships medals on the road to Paris here: https://totallympics.com/qualification-tracker/paris-2024/world-championships-medal-counts-in-the-road-to-paris-2024/ One of the greatest features on the site, I check it regularly for interest and daydreaming about the Olympics!
  8. Medals for Van 't End and Polling, we are back in 2019!
  9. Some good PB's by young Dutch athletes recently: Britt Weerman 1m96 in high jump (national indoor record) Pauline Hondema 6m57 in long jump N'Ketia Seedo 7.21 in 60m Sofie Dokter 4606 in pentathlon Not to mention Femke Bol's 500m indoor PB, a result so good she might never break it again!
  10. I'm not good at watching full replays (except for Olympics, even after they are spoiled they are fun to rewatch), but I just finished watching a bunch of highlights. I missed a good weekend for Dutch sports! Mathieu van der Poel with another big win, Stam/Schoon winning the Beach Pro Tour, multiple Judo medals in Paris, another dominant weekend for Schulting and the womens relay in shorttrack. At the national championships in speed skating all the events were even won by Dutch!!
  11. Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 Doha Men: 1. Mol/Sorum 2. Ahman/Hellvig 3. Ranghieri/Carambula Women: 1. Stam/Schoon 2. Brunner/Hüberli 3. Clancy/Mariafe Another great start for the season for Stam/Schoon! Ahman/Hellvig are also looking like the real deal after their breakthrough season last year.
  12. I'm away from home all weekend (for good reasons like family time, hiking and my moms birthday) so here's what I'm not watching: National championship speed skating World cup shorttrack in Dresden World championship cyclocross in Hoogerheide Beach volleyball pro tour in Doha Athletics indoor competitions: IFAM Gent, New Balance Indoor Boston, National multi-event championship Eredivisie: Feyenoord - PSV
  13. Seasons don't matter to Qatar, just host as many international tournaments as possible It was a late season finish way after all the other tournaments and now a season start way before the other tournaments start end of March...
  14. Stam/Schoon beat Duda/Ana Patricia in the Elite 16 Doha group stage after 5 matchpoints for the Brazilians in set 2 and 3 matchpoints in set 3. Final score: 22-20 / 29-31 / 14-16 Hughes/Cheng also continue their winning form, beating Melissa/Brandie in three sets after losing the first set 12-21.
  15. So I was a bit early with my previous posts, but tomorrow with the Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 in Doha the qualification ranking really starts!
  16. I don't really know, but I guess it is all chance in the end so it might be possible to miss out twice. However there is so many tickets in total I don't know it all the group matches especially will be sold out.
  17. There will be a second round of sales with single tickets (no obligation to buy a pack of 3 sessions), which will likely include the finals. Whether they will be harder to get hold of depends on how many people sign up for the lottery, I'd assume the next round will be even more popular personally. Because the Games are closer and the finals are included.
  18. Wow that is a disappointing performance by the squad. I believe Angel Daleman and Jenning de Boo had already won medals at the junior world championship last year and they were in the team again this year. Daleman is still only 15 I believe and she's probably our biggest speed skating talent both long track and short track.
  19. 2022 Beach Pro Tour Finals: Men: 3. Nicolai/Cottafava 2. Bryl/Losiak 1. Mol/Sorum Women: 3. Stam/Schoon 2. Duda/Ana Patricia 1. Hughes/Cheng Didn't expect Duda/Ana Patricia to lose the womens final, but it looks like Hughes/Cheng have really grown into an elite pair over this season. Both played in the world tour with different partners before this season.
  20. Ooh nice, love me some rankings! Here are the other installments I could find so far. I believe the top 30 articles aren't released yet: https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-mens-75-51/ https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-mens-50-41/ https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-mens-40-31/ https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-womens-100-76/ https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-womens-75-51/ https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-womens-50-41/ https://swimswam.com/swimswams-top-100-for-2023-womens-40-31/
  21. Men's quarterfinals: George/Andre - Brouwer/Meeuwsen Carambula/Rangheri - Nicolai/Cottafava Mol/Sorum and Bryl/Losiak qualified straight to the semi finals and are honestly looking like the clear favorites. Women's quarterfinals: Clancy/Mariafe - Hüberli/Brunner Nuss/Kloth - Hughes/Cheng Duda/Ana Patricia and Stam/Schoon qualified straight to the semi finals. The Brazilian pair is dominant so far, with all the other pairs exchanging games in the group phase.
  22. Maybe I should specify it is the national indoor 5000m running record On ice thats slower than the 10.000m NR
  23. New national indoor 5000m record: 13:11.60 by Mike Foppen!
