    They will because the assumption is that the suspension will be temporarily. AIBA can take a hardline approach and at the very least would cause the Olympic tournament to be very diluted.

    A professional boxing tournament without letting amateurs at least attempt to qualify is no good either. Also, if AIBA really wants to play hardball there won't be any recognized national federations either (as they risk being sanctioned by AIBA), though I guess they could go the route of having all the boxers compete under the Olympic flag, but I imagine some young boxers may also not want to risk getting banned from future competitions.

    Skateboarding (and surfing) are not widely developed so it isn't surprising that the sports struggle to get diversity, even concentrated to one continent diversity.

    The quota goes to the highest ranked athlete that has yet to qualify a quota. The athlete must also reach the MQS during the qualification round. Overall the United States should claim the most quotas, though Cuba and Mexico could pick up a couple too. Other nations will have chances too.

    Yeah, China and Russia dropped the ball a bit, but none of the other nations took advantage of it.

    If those hold up Canada and Argentina will be quite excited along with NORCECA and CSV, hoping their respective nation qualifies.

    Bolivia was lucky to defeat Thailand in the group stage to reach this level. It's unlikely they would have won a medal between the four remaining teams. Portugal really liked that the Youth Olympics decided to add beach handball and futsal over handball and football.

    Canada still has a few more medal opportunities though it looks like we'll finish without gold for the second games in a row. We should still win the most medals out of nations without a gold medal (especially if Brazil wins gold in futsal)

    They use to be all combined, but I think the BMX athletes complained because there was no reason to include a BMX rider in the team due to the road race.

    Too bad cycling isn't separate, Luxembourg could have won medals. Hopefully the mountain biking athlete doesn't weigh him down too badly.
