  1. I always found slopestyle and big air/aerials to be redundant. Heck, for snowboarding the same athletes qualify in slopestyle and big air.
  2. I imagine the FIS is closed by now. Maybe there will be an e-mail in the morning.
  3. If South Korea receives a reallocation quota they lose their host quota? Two men's quotas needs to be filled, with Switzerland declining quotas the top nations are with third.
  4. The USA has accepted its reallocated quota, they will be sending a full team of 22 athletes. Next team to watch is Serbia.
  5. Yeah, we are have a good chance at going beyond the 100 places. If we remove the nations which declined some of their quotas (and the nations which are over the limit) we are left with 30 spots. (Sadly Chile is currently 27th with only 26 spots remaining and that's without Kenya and Togo confirming) Here is the list order Slovenia can gain up to 7 more quotas
  6. Honestly I'd cross off any nation which took fewer athletes than they were given and start from there.
  7. Group C makes things a bit easier. Russia/Ukraine will get the team quota, after that there isn't too much competition.
  8. Oceania rowing qualifier finished Boys' single sculls - Girls' single sculls - Kiribati benefited from the lack of New Zealand.
  9. Thanks. I'm not surprised, our equestrian federation is relatively underfunded to the talent we have (most riders are rich anyway so they feel they can afford it). Croatia is in Group B correct? (why does FEI still refer to them by A-G while the main site has groups I-IX) There's a few good nations in that group, but if 3 or more qualify to the team event things start to open up for the individual quota. I also think it's ridiculous that the team events will have 3 events. Eventing might as well be a lottery. It should be 12 teams of 4 (15 for jumping) plus individual quotas.
  10. Interesting. Qualifying will be relatively harder for her, but being chosen by the nation will be a lot easier. Is she currently Croatia's best dressage rider?
  11. Here. FIS has made a nice table for all of its sports.
  12. I remember when to qualify to the French swimming team you had to break the French record in some events. Canada has some additional standards, but usually it's to prevent "free qualification" due to easy qualification for some sports (sailing was a big one in 2016).
  13. Some nations only want athletes that will perform well (Netherlands) or that they feel they have a too easy path due to essentially free continental spots (New Zealand and South Africa). Money is usually the issue too, most sporting budgets are small and funding is sometimes based on how well athletes perform (so an athlete performing poorly may bring in less money than no one competing at all). Then there are the times where the qualified athlete is injured.
  14. For the ones I click that doesn't seem to be the case, though looking around that is true.
  15. I'm not sure if this was mentioned before... In the results portal can we have a latest replies section. It makes it easier to see if new results have been posted rather than going through individual sports.
  16. US can be a dark horse if Zapolski plays the tournament of his life. Canada is a solid team, but age is a factor, most of the team is over 30 years old. I'll wait until I see Sweden/Finland's team, but I imagine they may be the favourites against Canada/US.
  17. Looks like the FEI has fixed its mistake. The North and South American teams are the same as I listed. They also confirm Iran, Qatar and United Arab Emirates will be placed into the Australasia team with Australia and New Zealand.
  18. The original nation can waive the waiting period for an athlete to compete for a different nation.
  19. If the Americas are split the qualified teams would be North America South America
  20. Here are the Equestrian quotas. However the FEI seems to have forgotten that North and South America are suppose to be separate. They also forgot about Iraq receiving a tripartite spot, but this website has remembered. FEI Link Africa Americas Asia Australasia Europe
  21. Yeah those figure skating results suggest Canada can win 4-6 medals, which would be amazing, but I feel we would need a very good performance to even get 4.
  22. North Korea women aren't that much worse than South Korea in women's ice hockey. Their best players are likely better than South Korea's worst players at the very least. I'm still against the idea. Plus a Saudi Arabia and create quotas and give North Korea a (short track) speed skater or two if they really want to. Maybe an alpine/cross-country skiier if they have anyone.
