Happens at every games (the negativity). I remember the British press labeling the Vancouver games as the worst ever (before they even started). Arguably those were the best Winter Games in recent memory.

Compared to the lists on the wikipedia and the World Cup standings, Yakubovskiy is missing 20 points from Hamar in the men's mass start. And the host quotas weren't moved up in the time rankings from the reserve lists to the last qualifying spots.

They got very, very close to not getting a third quota by points in the 5000m. Like two positions away in the last world cup close. IIRC it was like a tenth of a second or something? Too lazy to go check exactly what it was, but point it, it was very close.

is more or less secured full entries in every women's events and fifteen quotas overall (seven men and eight women). Because of a quirk in the qualification rules we do not have a ninth women's quota because Canada's third women's quota in the 1000m is from the time ranking, not the points ranking.
