    That does worry me quite a bit. Trump is completly mercurial so no way to really know what kind of mood he'll be in then (or if he's even still cognizant enough to make decisions by then).

    In an incredible show of efficiency, the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches scheduled for Boston have already been moved more than 30km away from the city! Trump is the most effective president ever! (For anyone who doesn't get the joke, Gillette Stadium, where the "Boston" World Cup matches are scheduled to be played, is famously not anywhere near Boston)

    This is basically in line with my thinking on this. On the one hand, this sets a really bad precedent, and it isn't acceptable for an entire country's delegation to be denied visas for a world championship. On the other hand, Israel is real lucky they haven't been banned or made "neutral" by any IF in the past two years.

    I'm not opposed to International federations banning Israel (though *now*, of all times over the past couple years, seems a little suspect), but host countries absolutely should not get to pick and chose which countries get to compete in events they host.

    For the LA simulation I recommend using the year end world ranking, that’s the closest thing Golf has to a "world champion".

    Probably the British and US Open. Would have been the ANA Inspiration before it moved to Texas and became the Chevron Championship. That used to clearly be the women's equivalent to the Masters. The Canadian Open and the Olympics are the biggest non-major events.

    Qualification is based on the individual world tour ranking per distance, so they wouldn’t.

    On top of the Canadians I’ll be rooting for Brendan Corey, who despite representing Australia was born and raised in my hometown ( Fredericton ). If everything goes well he’ll be one of three short track skaters at the Olympics (the other two are vying for spots on the Canadian team).

    You’ll be really disappointed because I can 100% guarantee that Ghiotto will not win a gold medal in Cortina (unless I massively f-ed up my travel plans :P )

    Also the IOC hates esports and the proposed esports Olympic would be one of the worst esports event ever held.

    I've long been in favour of including cross country running and cyclocross in the Winter Olympics. But I think moving indoor sports with no connection to winter sports is a terrible idea.
