Men's Flag Football IFAF World Championship 2024

Just going off the rankings but beating is a big win? Also they played a perfect game. These games today are a lot more interesting. The 2 min warning period also isnt extremly annoying because its more tactical in tight games, still dont see the need though -
Dan Evans Longest match in US Open history and 4-0 down in the 5th set Did he inherit murrays comeback powers by playing his last match with him?

I was happy they did it tbh because the 2 min warning play is bloody drag to watch when up by multiple scores 🤣 Enjoyed today be interesting to see it tomorrow when the higher seeded teams play, the gb women definitly look the better of the two british sides -

Assume you mean GB men v Sweden? i think they just played that way because they were up but so many scores they were just running the clock down known sweden didn't have enough time to get the three scores they needed, they were wiping 20/30 seconds off the clock at a time. GB (men and women) played 4 won 4 today so i can't see where they came off "worse"? am i missing a game? -

Enjoying this a lot but the play during the two minute warning kills the flow (kinda like the full tackle version as well). The half is 20 minutes long, the first 18 fly by and then the last 2 minutes take another 20 -

I've literally just started watching but im going to guess for turnover purposes? If they intercept then they need to have the flag stripped? but i havn't watched a game or read the rules so.... -

The men's 3x3 team were ranked 12, and made it to the quarter finals when they were beaten so finished top 8. Hope this is the start of an upwards trend in this sport, in the QF they got into foul trouble very early and i don't know if its me but i thought they were a bit show-boaty compared to some other matches i watched? -
WOW Final day of the U23 part of the world championship and that was a pretty impressive show Women’s Four Final GOLD! Men’s Four Final GOLD! Men’s Quad Final 6th Men’s Eight Final GOLD Women’s Eight Final GOLD! We had 10 GB crews, 7 Made Finals, 5 of which won gold. Both eight crews and four's dominated. The final U23 Medal table looks like 5 0 1 4 1 3 2 1 1 2 1 0 2 0 0 1 3 0 1 2 1

Over the moon for Ben O'Conner today! (not only cause i got a bet on him at 9/1 when he was in the break) i can't help but feel he got done dirty in the netflix documentary so want to see him do well, hope he can hold it together and make BORA and the others really work for it now

Found this for tomorrow -
U23/ World Championship Day 2 So looks like we haven't sent any lightweight rowing crews at all, which makes sense since its dead at Olympic level, also no single scull boats in U23 which like in the Olympics always saddens me, i know our best rowers make the big crews but would still like to see some representation as i enjoy the event Women's Pair 2nd > Final Men's Pair 4th > Rep Women's Quad 2nd > Final Women's Double Rep 4th > B Final (this is the first crew eliminated) Men's Quad Rep 1st > SF (these looked awful in the first round, miles better today) Men's Pair Rep 2nd > SF (two races in one day....ouch) Senior. Pretty sure this is our only competitor out there. Women's lightweight single sculls 3rd > Rep

Track Cycling 2024 Discussion Thread

OR he has been planning this for a while, and was honest enough to race for australia at the olympics and win them a sack full of medals getting them a good return for their investment. If you think team Australia didn't know that he had applied to switch to GB pre olympics then you should wise up. -

U23 Rowing World Championships Women Double Sculls 4th > Rep Men Double Sculls 3rd > SF Women's Four 1st > SF Men's Four 1st > SF Men's Quad 5th > Rep Men's Eight 2nd > Final Women's Eight > Final There wasn't any commentary on the stream, from what i saw the men's 8 would have won their race (which was a seeding race) if it was 2010m, they had a slow start and came right back through the field. The men's quad were disappointing, almost so that something may have happened to them off screen because they dropped like a stone. Still, only two boats having to go in the rep, a good day, these will likely be the crews that will develop for the next cycle so it's worth seeing how they go this week Edit: I had it on youtube, world rowing is the channel, if anyone wants to watch the rest this week

Things i will add, Discovery also has bonjour paris in the morning, presented by Orla which was great for setting the day up. The few times i watched bbc the swapping channels was dreadful, mens triathlon for example swapping from red button to BBC1 on THE LAST LAP. I bearly watched BBC, the only occasions i did is when i KNEW they would be showing a live event (keely, triathlon) or because they had a commentary team i enjoyed. I would have watched a lot more athletics and swimming on BBC but there were occasions i knew there was an event on and we had to sit through an interview with adam peatys pet cat. The one thing i feel i missed out on with discovery is, as you said, a studio feel that gelled the show together, i do occasionally like skit's about the athletes village for example. The other bad thing with discovery was the distinct lack of charlton kirby covering the cycling

How do people see rowing over the next cycle, with the olympic distance being cut to 1500m for L.A. Outside of world cup's etc is this distance competed at? I guess it can go either way for the squad, at what point in the cycle do they start focusing on 1500 and will that mean we might see drop off in world championship performance over the 2000 distance. I kinda have a lot of hope because GB allways seem among the first to adapt to changes in sports, but i also think it could create a more equal playing field (great for the sport, not great for GB golds) romania for example with their sprints would poasibley be even stronger? Am interested to know what others think
