From my point of view: it was who turned defensive to protect the lead and it's just not a very good team at doing that (almost lost to Australia, France trying the same). In extra-time they had to take back the reins of the game and dispute possession hence why the dutch onslaught ended. Also, it's easy for someone like Weghorst to look good with crossing tactics against tiny CBs like Martinez.

Even within Africa it's a weird pick. Small country, quite underdeveloped (GDP per Capita lower than Palestine...). I guess no one else in Africa wanted it.

A victorious start for in the finals but yet another injury of a very important player before the match even started No Moneta and Osadszuk for these finals is quite a handicap. In principle both should be fit for Paris at least.
