  2. Only now I discover this table and we have 0 got to be the most pathetic fact of our sport.
  3. 5-8 Places 4-3 4-3 Bronze 2-0 Final 2-1 Qualified to olympic games.
  4. No, the men have improved. In the past they would usually lose quite easily to the elite teams, now the match is not lost before the start at the very least. In the recent pro league season they defeated (without the need of a shoot-out) all the top teams at least once. At the last world cup they only lost on a SO to Germany but showed solid performances throughout. At the COG they narrowly lost to Australia after leading 2-0. The trend is that England just doesn't lose without giving a fight to anyone anymore and I believe they can fight for a medal in Paris even if it's not a gold.
  5. As a start italians call rowing "canotaggio" so I bet many of them think they are one and the same sport (One of my favorite "false friends" in spanish-italian).
  6. It's not impossible but I doubt they will.
  7. I was expecting them to win actually... They will probably meet Angola in the consolation round and that should decide the african quota (I don't see any other african team advancing or winning more than one game).
  8. Germany despite being world champions usually are an inconsistent team (their results in pro league as proof). England/GB are probably the most improved team since Tokyo. Still, Netherlands is likely taking the ticket to Paris. Men's hockey is a toss up right now. The medals next year could go to any of the top 5/6 teams in any order.
  9. 5-8 place pool 4-1 1-2 Semifinals 2-3 (4) 0-0 (5)
  10. Can't Kopasz and Varga just fuck off to K2? That way they can both have a gold medal.
  11. I don't know who is the "best" or "better" because it depends on what parameter you use but I think there are only two teams that seriously attempt to have initiative when playing the dutch team: & . Doesn't mean that makes them better than the rest, & are just as likely to win but with a different approach.
Dan wordt het weer 2-0 voor ons.’ https://hockey.nl/nieuws/oranje/volgens-paul-van-ass-snakt-oranje-een-beetje-naar-concurrentie/ That last part I highlighted is more or less what I said before: a lot of match-ups have become very predictable.
  13. I believe the player you mention is into some dispute with the federation? In principle it won't be easy to bring her back.
  14. Day 4 Pool A 3-1 3-4 Final Standings 9 pt. (+8) 6 pt. (+2) 3 pt. (0) 0 pt. (-10) Pool B 8-1 1-4 Final Standings 7 pt. (+6) 6 pt. (+10) 3 pt. (-7) 1 pt. (-9)
  15. Why would you go back to Russia after doing that. I would fly straight to Africa or middle east and never come back until Vlady dies.
  16. Yes, though also GB is usually stronger than England. I don't know if it's the welsh players or a better preparation but the trend of the last decade is that they show up at the olympics after doing nothing for the other 3 years and 11 months.
  17. Day 4 Pool A 5-0 0-5 Final Standings 9 pt. (+11) 6 pt. (+9) 3 pt. (-7) 0 pt. (-13) Pool B 5-0 0-5 Final Standings 9 pt. (+14) 6 pt. (+3) 3 pt. (-3) 0 pt. (-14)
  18. Day 3 Pool A 3-0 5-1 Standings 6 pt. (+6) 3 pt. (+1) 3 pt. (+1) 0 pt. (-8) Pool B 2-0 3-0 Standings 4 pt. (+3) 3 pt. (+3) 3 pt. (-4) 1 pt. (-2)
  19. How is the hungarian economy sustained? These are middle east levels of investment in sport events without oil (that I know of).
  20. They have improved but I think literally every game between these teams in the last 3 years has finished 2-1 or 2-0 so today's match is far from being novelty. Women's hockey is so stagnant right now that I could win very easily any prediction contest about it. Always the same results and with very similar scores.
