  2. I think event he judges still are trying to figure out how the scoring works. Before the score was only a disguise to the preference given to each team, disregarding any actual difference from one performance to other. Now I’m not buying that a team that barely qualified for the final suddenly improved so much as to actually medal, while the other competitors dropped significantly. It’s good that the system has changed, but way far from a fair shot to all.
  3. Not really, the US just pull themselves together after awful compulsory dives, while Orozco and Agundez throw their medal in the 4th round; if the Japanese and Canadian pairs hadn’t failed a five each, Mexico would have ended 6th.
  4. In Mexico’s case it’s not surprising that level has dropped, mostly due to the fact there is no federation, and thus no public funding (mostly due to corruption) and an actual training program, with most of the divers having to return to their local clubs/college/associations to continue their training. Still, the talent is there and with some new young blood, probably next cycle will see them getting better results.
  5. Sadly no, it’s still a matter of the rest depending on Chinese underperfoming + judges stop being so lenient with them. GB is right now the only one with a solid program that could challenge them in some point, while the rest of the world is competing for a chance in the podium.
  6. Awful judging during women’s 10m synchro prelims. To me, it seemed like only after round 3 they decides to actually observe the executions.
  8. Mexico with a chance to earn their first ever medal in an event other than diving, thanks to a good performance in mixed duet.
  9. It wssn’t that good, she was overscored in my opinion in her last dive, yet she did a great competition and should enjoy her medal. Too bad for Ware not getting the bronze, but again, she only advanced to the final with a little help from the judges, so she should left behind this event and focus on a medal in 3m.
  11. And still he’s only 3rd best in the individual platform, but not too far from Kevin Berlin (no. 2), who in turn had to resort to sell coffee beans to fund his career. I’m proud of this new generation.
  12. You can scratch Mexico from any draw/event, as the bitch Guevara denied funds to our Unversity athletes, just like she has done to every federation/athlete other than Baseball and Football.
Tampoco descarto a Japón, España o EUA colándose.
  14. They are a proud and talented duet, along with the rest of team. They had to pay their expenses by selling towels and swimsuits designed by them after the government withdraw all the funding.
  15. Great start for Mexico in diving, giving that we don’t have a federation after it was suspended by corruption. 4 finalist divers/pair, and now our first medal. And to think Diego Balleza had to cost his training by opening an onlyFans account due to the cruel mistreatment of the national government, who still insist in supporting a fraudulent federation.
  16. First time I see divers for , and . Also, if not mistaken, first time for in women’s events.
  17. Oh, he’s getting sacked for sure. That was an achievable gold.
  18. I apologize for overlooking your post. While trying to find the number of competitors per each NOC, I found an article that mentioned the Bahamian one didn’t thought the men’s basketball and softball teams could “achieve” anything, so they were left out.
  19. Central American and Caribbean Games July 3, 2023 Women’s Long Jump Natalia LINARES - 6.86
  20. Mexico v. Dominican Republic for the last spot in men’s compound
  21. And she actually beat Galvan and Cortés with an amazing sprint in the last 150m Great race for her
  22. Natalia LINARES gets a ñn Olympic quota for Colombia in women’s Long Jump with a 6.86 mark.
  23. I think Dyner in women’s epee is thier best shot at gold.
  24. Let’s pray for that win.
  25. Along with Cuba
