  1. From what I’ve seen, Paradello needs to go. We’re not ever going to be Olympic medal contenders with him around.
  2. Yeah but I don’t have any hope. I’ve seen way too many fake comebacks by Canadian teams to be convinced.
  3. lead 9-5 now Congrats to all of my Italian friends on here for the quota
  4. Looking like this one will be a blowout. Well this was a complete waste of my time.
  5. up 3-1 over early on in the first period…
  6. In Lindholm’s home debut as a Canuck, he scores twice as my Vancouver Canucks defeat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1, improving to 37-12-6 on the season! First team in the NHL to 80 points! Sweet sweet revenge, after blowing a 3-1 third period lead against them on Saturday (we were also up 3-1 heading into the third period today, but a different outcome) Player of the game, Thatcher Demko with 27/28 saves. For some added context, Walman hit the griddy after scoring the OT winner on Saturday.
  7. Amy Fraser and Brendan MacKay win silver in women’s and men’s halfpipe at the Calgary WC!

  10. 3 medal day on Day 1 of World Championships Women’s and men’s team sprint win gold, while Isabelle Weidemann wins silver in women’s 3000m from pair 4! (she’s had an up and down season so far)

  12. I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually don’t want us to qualify. Not only have we not shown that we deserve it (again, having not beaten a single quality opponent up until this point), but also I want to see the better team at the Olympics and Italy is way more likely to come home with a medal. Italy defeated United States at last years Worlds (easily the best team during this quad), to see them not even qualify for Paris would be pretty sad. That being said, I would be stoked if Canada does in fact win.
  13. Day #3 Champions Women’s Freestyle -50kg: Mariya Stadnik -55kg: Andreea Ana -59kg: Alyona Kolesnik -68kg: Buse Tosun -76kg: Yasemin Yigit
  14. Moves up to 21st in the all-time rankings with that time!
  15. Judging from the entry list, here are the main contenders for the Olympic quotas: @Laraja if there’s any names that I’ve missed, feel free to also mention them. Men Leandro Usuna Cody Young Maxime Huscenot Miguel Tudela Leon Glatzer Rio Waida Ramzi Boukhiam Sebastian Williams Francisco Bellorin Manuel Selman Women Luana Silva Erin Brooks Mathea Olin Francisca Veselko Yolanda Seqeira Daniella Rosas Sol Aguirre Noah Klapp Rachel Presti Leilani McGonagle Amuro Tsuzuki Mahina Maeda Paige Hareb Anat Leilor Noa Leilor Men’s Team Quota: Brazil or United States Women’s Team Quota: Australia
  16. Good for her, but that time will probably be far from what’s required to win an Olympic medal at Paris. Plus, the field isn’t very deep with the exception of Haughey. To be in contention for an Olympic medal, she’d realistically need to go a 1:53 mid (maybe high), which seems quite unlikely IMO. In the women’s 200m freestyle, it’s likely to be between MOC, Titmus, Haughey, and McIntosh for the Olympic medals. In the women’s 100m freestyle, it’s likely to be between Haughey, Douglass, Weitzeil, MOC, and Steenbergen (McKeon as well if she can get back to form) for the Olympic medals.
  17. Women’s 4x200m freestyle relay qualifies for Paris, guaranteeing us four additional quotas!
  18. First outdoor meet of the season, let’s do this!
