  1. Women’s wheelchair basketball team defeats Spain 81-49 to improve to 2-1 in the group stage! Kady Dandeneau with 36 points, amazing performance by her
  2. Well yeah, but I’d honestly be surprised if Russia weren’t in medal contending form, they always are. Russia has been one of the top nations in ice hockey for many many years and there’s no reason to think otherwise. They have a good non-NHL team (they did win silver in Beijing after all…), and with NHL players finally returning to the Olympics they’ll be even stronger. Some of the players like Kucherov have spoken about the upcoming Olympics and are quite keen to represent their countries if given the chance of course.
  3. Because Russia earned their ticket through combined results at the last two World Chamipionships, and Belarus didn't
  4. Russia being excluded for … France would be such a shame, personally I’m hoping for their inclusion as I want to see the best of the best present. They have a lot of good NHL players too.
  5. Daily Medals Day 1 - 2 Bronzes Day 2 - 2 Bronzes Day 3 - 2 Silvers Day 4 - 2 Silvers So with that we’ll win 2x gold the next two days… ? (kidding, but wouldn’t that be something)
  6. Another silver for Lakatos, this time in T53 400m!
  7. Yeah no, not happening (even in 10 years) TISC doesn’t interest me, and even if it did it takes up way too much of my time that I’d rather be doing other things with
  8. I feel like it actually will, because our para athletics and swimming teams are way stronger than usual. We still have no gold medals, and we’re 5 days in.
  9. Good to see Badosa getting back to top form
  10. And Kyle Tremblay out in the quarterfinals of men’s compound. Probably won’t beat our Tokyo medal total.
  11. Silver for Rivard. Another disappointing result.
  12. Brent Lakatos through to the men’s 400m T53 final.
  13. Giacomo Perini, who originally won bronze in men’s PR1 single sculls, were found to be using communication equipment during the final and has been excluded from the event (ranked dead last)
  14. Sorry I completely forgot to do the medal preview earlier. Kyle Tremblay continues his campaign for a medal in men’s compound archery at 7:04 AM PST/10:04 AM EST, and if he can advance to the medal rounds at 10:43 AM PST/1:43 PM EST, and Aurelie Rivard will look for yet another Paralympic medal at 8:51 AM PST/11:51 AM EST in the women’s 100m butterfly S10.
  15. Gold for Isabella Holmgren at the Mountain Biking World Championships in the women’s U23 cross country, finishing 1:17 ahead of silver! Emily Johnson won bronze to make it a double podium for Canada! Elite and U23 both started at the same time, and if Holmgren had been racing in the elite, she would’ve finished 5th! Wow.
  16. Oh, I was just thinking since you weren’t sharing anything about it in the thread at the time that you weren’t watching, but I guess I was mistaken
  17. I never want to hear “Freed from Desire” after today, I can’t seem to escape it I swear
  18. You missed the 5000m heats!
  19. Sheremet with back-to-back Paralympic 4th’s in women’s PR1 single sculls Damn, that’s heartbreaking.
  20. Women’s goalball team ties South Korea 0-0. Up next, the quarterfinals!
  21. Aurelie Rivard through to the women’s 100m freestyle S10 final!

  23. Mathias Graf (ski cross) https://www.instagram.com/p/C_XKyCuiaDt/?igsh=czAwNzYwYW83ZG9o
  24. Triathlon postponed. Lowkey I’m a little bit mad, I could’ve gotten an extra 45 minutes of sleep but nope.
  25. exceeded expectations in pretty much all events, besides Julia Tunks who could only muster up a 52m throw in the women’s discus throw final after being ranked #2 in the world and finishing just a couple of spots outside of qualifying for the Paris Olympics. Dianna Proctor, who won silver in the women’s 400m and ran the 2nd leg of the 4x100m relay that won bronze will definitely be a name that I’ll keep my eye out for in the upcoming years, and so too Rachel Forsyth in the women’s 1500m (silver in the 1500m) John O’Reily (men’s 800m, 4th) and Asia Phillips (women’s triple jump, 4th) are other performances that really stood out to me, but so many of our athletes improved on their seeding.
