  1. Rakhi Halder finishes with dismal 214kg again. Meanwhile analysing Mirabai's chances, it's more dep on the luck and other player's performance. Two of her rivals are from north korea and China. With 4 per each gender it's gonna be interesting!! North Korea Sure to send lifters in 59, 64,76kg Their 87 kg lifter is very good and could sneak through to be the 4th (In such a case no 49kg lifter) China Sure to send in 55kg, 64kg(just because of experience and being defending Olympic champion and probably world champion again) Surely they won't send lifters in 59 and 76 because no chance of gold. 87kg lifter has a edge in the remaining 3 categories So it's all about - 49 vs +87kg In +87kg, there is presence of Tatiana the WR holder from Russia lifting 333kg.Interestingly Li (Chn) is just 19 years old and lifting 323 already. If Li makes 345+ it's possible she goes through, though it looks a lot but Li has shown such big improvement that nothing can be said.
  2. We reject your resignation. From today you shall be the incharge of all medal tables of all multi sport events and world champs and shall be called ' Sir Phelps' in honor of Phelps, The Great who conquered all sports by sheer will power and hard work!!
  3. And also the fact that Israel was in our draw. There was a good chance that the Lebanese athlete entered the semis and maybe the finals but facing Israeli meant it was a no show for the Asian Games silver medallist based in Michigan.
  4. India are 6th with 2 medals not 8th
  5. I don't watch any boxing matches no matter how many Indians are in finals bcoz AIBA is nothing but a cheat.
  6. Deepak is 20 years old
  7. An analysis of how the women's wrestling Asian Olympic Qualifiers should turn out : Note :Q indicates Qualified already, A indicates could qualify at Asian Qualifiers 50kg Q A 53kg Q A / 57kg Q A 62kg Q A 68kg Q A 76kg Q A /
  8. Hail San Marino
  9. Acc to page 4 its serpentine system only. Once seeded all 32 positions are assigned without a draw. Only teams 32-64 are drawn randomly.
  10. Whatever be the Indian ranking, we are likely to face one of Croatia, Slovakia, England or a few others. It will be evenly balanced. We have a good doubles so that along with Sathiyan even winning 1 of 2 means Sharath or any 1 of the other needs to win 1 match. On the contrary Women's team finishing 9th is a blessing in disguise. Though the qualifying chances are slim, the worser their ranking (Not 30+),the better part of draw. Currently Korea, Taipei could be in their quarter provided serpentine system is followed.
  11. So Indian campaign at the Asian TT Championship ends. Men's Team did well to finish 5th. Women's Team could have done better (9th) Doubles we didn't get good draw. Men's Singles - Sathiyan reached quarters, 1st Indian to do so in 43 years, went down fighting against Lin Gaoyan, WNO 4 from China. Women's Singles - Ayika Mukherjee had a fantastic tournament beating Chen Szu Yu in 1st round and then in pre quarters giving a great performance against the Olympic Champion (if i am not wrong, 1st Indian ever to pull a game off Ding Ning, who later crushed Japanese No1 in straight sets in quarters).
  12. Mirabai Chanu will have her event at the World Weightlifting Championships 2019 tomorrow at 4.30pm IST. Sadly we can't watch it. The livestream on Olympic Channel is blocked and IWF say star India has the rights. But I asked Star India who said they haven't bought any such rights for the event.
  13. At least Pooja would have been in the repechage losing to Kawai. Kiran did well but Gray is a great athlete
  14. As I said before she is highly overrated. Btw India could have its 1st ever world women's wrestling champion tomorrow.
  15. So we would finally have a female with 2 world wrestling champions medals in the form of Pooja Dhanda, still won't be that great bcoz it's non Olympic category. The trials were never required in 57kg i believe, even if she lost to Sarita it was because they know each others moves well. But Pooja has a lot of experience.
  16. https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1084824/egyptian-weightlifting-federation-banned That looks all over for Egypt in Weightlifting
  17. So @zob79 Now that you really want to argue, here is a question for you : How many wrestlers have been nominated for Laureus sports award in the last 5 years? Name Them
  18. You keep your views to yourself. There is a way to express your views. Alina Vuc will never win an Olympic medal, I am 100% sure
  19. I don't think you follow wrestling that much. Vinesh is the Asian Games Champion in 50kg and had beaten Sun Yanan very easily in the 1st round there. I still remember how Vinesh had thrashed Alena Vuc of Romania in Rio by technical superiority only getting an injury in quarters. So your Romanian athlete is a 4th or 5th class contender if Vinesh is 2nd class.
  20. Yeah I'm hoping the 2 athletes swap their categories at Olympics. It's much easier to win gold in 50kg for vinesh rather than be in top 8 in 53kg.
  21. So if 1 athlete gets a quota in X can she qualify and participate in Y?
  22. Does the quotas go to the NOC or the athlete?
  23. Indian men qualify for Olympic Qualifying Tournament!
  24. I never said about stopping to follow watching wrestling. Just that we are overexpecting here. We are not improving in Rowing at World level. And Judo? When do we give them a opportunity? The federation is not good and improvements are required. I wasn't sure about future of Judo but that changed when I first watched Thangjam Tababi Devi, silver medallist from Youth Olympics 2018 at just 16, India's first ever global judo medallist.
  25. Not at all suprised. I said before wrestling is doing no good, winning medals at Asian level especially in greco doesn't mean we are improving. The rankings in wrestling aren't that good too. For example Seema in 50kg, she's not even a top 10 wrestler to be honest, if she can last 4 of 6 minutes against Japanese or Chinese that will be a great achievement for her.
