Hello guys, since all sport events are suspended for some months, I would like to think about some ways to improve Totallympics. First of all, I have thought about a system to provide results on the forum, like we were doing in the past. I will give more details at a later stage but users interested to help with that can let me know so I will keep them updated and we can make some tests before the competition start again. Also, we would like to merge https://games24.totallympics.com and https://qualifyingtothegames.totallympics.com/ websites into a single one. If someone is interested to help with the content of the website is welcome, but more than that we would need some help in the web design. The website is using Wordpress, has someone here any experience with Wordpress or with web design in general ? If so, please let me know here or through Private Message, any help will be appreciated

Surely the number of viewers of the Olympic Games are higher than all 2021 multi-sport games together. But organizers of each of these small multi-sport games will be hit by a postponement/cancellation of the event. They will survive, but it's not like they will not care about that, especially for events with dates set years ago. Even the smallest multi-sport events requires organization.

The number we get is just the top of the iceberg, I don't think it's about "hiding" numbers but it's just about how much you test. In small cities with many cases here there are surely more cases than official numbers even in death people number, because not all dead people were tested so some people died but will not count in official numbers. We can get that even by a simply comparison between total cases and cases of "famous" people who tested positive Politicians, football players, actors and so on. I don't think a total lockdown is feasible for more than a few weeks here in Europe anyway (at least I hope so, otherwise people will soon start to die anyway and not for the virus. Our economy is going to die soon).

I have on my calendar two sports events which according to federations were supposed to start tomorrow and for which I have not been able to find any official sources about their postponments/cancellation: BMX Racing UCI Open de Argentina 2020 (San Juan stage) on March 21st BMX Racing UCI Campeonato Argentino 2020 (San Juan stage) on March 22nd The last official statement from the official website says the South American Championships have been cancelled but the Campeonato Argentina & Open are confirmed. But this news is from March 11th so I guess in the while these could have been cancelled as well. @LDOG Can you find something ? Thanks!

Absolutely right. Its not what I think will happen, its what I would like to happen

It would screw up 2021 sports calendar. 2022 would be even worse because would screw up 2021, 2022 and also 2023 sports calendars. Athletes who would be at the peak of their careers this year could not be in their peak anymore in 2021/2022. In sports like Swimming you could have an athlete who in 2022 wins 3 golds, the same athlete if the Olympics were this year as planned would not have even competed because too young. We would have an Olympic quadriennium with two Olympic Games in the same quadriennium. Qualifications would be screwed up for Tokyo and (if it will be Tokyo 2022) I fear also for Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifications would have to change.

Do it by the end of 2020 or cancel it at all.
