I heard about it for the first time this morning on the radio, apparently she is a former jewel maker who lived and worked in America for many years. Nothing really interesting really, maybe just that she will have huge problem when she will return to Slovakia, since she apparently on purpose threw her sim card before leaving SVK, to avoid the mandatory 14 days quarantine after returning from Croatia lol, dumbo antivaxers https://www.tvnoviny.sk/zahranicne/2039438_chorvatska-policia-potvrdila-ze-najdena-zena-je-slovenka-jej-sperky-nosili-viacere-hviezdy https://www.tvnoviny.sk/zahranicne/2039353_v-chorvatsku-nasli-dezorientovanu-zenu-ozvala-sa-citatelka-ktora-tvrdi-ze-ide-o-slovenku

  6. Badminton players yes, other sports we still don't know (we haven't got one yet ) Well usually the Olympic medalists regardless of medal colours will also get a position as a civil servant, which enable them to sustain a middle to upper-middle income lifestyle post retirement. However, pre 2016 medalists aren't getting such arrangement and the government is currently trying to find way to 'compensate' the older Olympians.

Most Europeans are disgusted by this as well, and rightly so. But this kind of easy hunt-and-murder is fine as long as it's called tradition, so yeah, nothing to worry about it for them. They'll be able to happily slaughter more and more next year

  9. Canada is responsible for the Atlantic cod population collapse and who cares about it these days? Nobody. Wealthy countries can always buy themselves a clear consciousness

  10. Kostas Kaimakoglou (basketball) He was a Euroleague champion, and national team member for many years. Won bronze at Eurobasket 2009. In total he was on two World Cup teams and four Eurobasket teams. This is really the year of retirements for Greek basketball legends, everyone from that generation is gone. Spanoulis, Zisis, Perperoglou, Kaimakoglou and maybe I am forgetting 1-2 more.

  12. Alkisti Avramidou and Christina Tsoukala (water polo) Avramidou is 33 years old. She already retired from the Greek national team at 31. Tsoukala is only 30 years old, played her last match with the national team at 29. Both girls played for Olympiacos and won Euro League this past year. Both girls were also part of the Greek national team which won gold at the 2011 World Championships as well as three silver medals at the European Championships (2010, 2012, 2018). Tsoukala was also at the 2008 Olympics as a 17 year old. I don't think anyone ever expected Tsoukala to never return to the Olympics after making her debut at 17, but that's another discussion. Avramidou is possibly the best women's water polo player ever from any country to never go to the Olympics (for as long as it has been an Olympic sport). I thought Tsoukala would stick around until 2024 and definitely didn't think she'd end her club career too, so this is sad news. What a story it would've been to go back to the Olympics 16 years after Beijing. Oh well... Also now everyone from our World Championships winning team 10 years ago is retired
