pity that these continental tournaments are canceled, it leaves no chance for the "weaker" countries to qualify !!

Canoe slalom doesn't have much depth in Pan America. It was the last discipline to be added to the Pan American Games (in 2015).

Sure, USA will go all for Evy Leibfarth here, which is obviously logical, this nerveless big talent is perfectly capable to make finals in both C1 & K1

Yea... in 2011 it was canceled because of low number of entries and in 2015 it was in question till 2014.

The discipline is growing though. There was an increase in entries from 2015 to 2019.

Not really, we saw Bolivia and Peru newly attend while Colombia did not. The only reason it's on the Pan Am program is because of its Olympic status.

Oh, for sure. You have to start somewhere though when trying to grow the discipline. Keeping it on the program, and encouraging participation are some of the best ways to do that.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
