I guess they lost some ground in women's softball, just like in women's basketball, women's water polo, women's field hockey...

 

Yeah they were not impressive so far, they needed an 8th inning to defeat Italy. I had Australia as the favourites to win the Asian/Oceania qualifier, but unless things changes they may be the underdog.

Rough day for the Italian team, first the loss in extra innings against Australia (a game they would have won if not for an error), then a 1 run loss against Canada.

 

Still, I think they are proving to be the best European team.
