Well done Wang ! Congrats :yes

2nd Olympics for him after Rio 2016. With the "more or less semi-confirmed" qualification of the mixed double Balážová/Pištej via world ranking (first under the line currently) we should be now able to match the amount of athletes in this sport from Rio (3) also in Tokyo.

The guy can not speak a single word in Slovak (well actually maybe one, ... kurva ..., I heard him shouting some times when he lost a point ) but at least he is already the first vaccinated SVK athlete of our Tokyo 2020 team, since he received vaccine back in China where he live, last month. :)

I mean congratulations I guess, but it's disappointing as a Greek that we actually send table tennis players from our own country and not China, only for them to lose in Olympic qualifying to people like Wang who represent...Slovakia...

Excellent morning for the Visegrad Group. :d

It could be even perfect if yesterday :POL Jakub Dyjas wouldn't lost Pitchford, if he would be winner in that match then Jakub had huge chance to qualify as well.

U mean China? ?

María Xiao was born in Barcelona and has lived her whole life between Spain and Portugal, so she is 100% Spaniard. We also have a junior girl called Sofía Xuan-Zhang who was born in Cartagena (Murcia), so writing a comment like that based exclusively in the surname of the girl without knowing her story is kind of disrespectful...

It is true that we have had a few Chinese players representing Spain in the last decade (Yanfei Shen or He Zhiwen who played in London and Rio and arrived to Spain because they were paid by the clubs and the federation made them an offer to join the national team), but right now all of our players have been born and/or raised in Spain.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
