Canada's sport budget has not changed since 2005.

Things look bleak, especially considering comparable countries are spending 10x the amount

Yeah, unless something changes, I feel we've reached our peak. Things like Summer McIntosh's individual performance and medals in the optional sports (lacrosse is basically 2 guaranteed medals plus we could win something in softball and flag football) will mask the decline somewhat in 2028, but eventually our sporting state will be in full view.

Following back on this. In the new budget this year, there was no new funds for sport at all. In fact most sports got cuts.

Meanwhile the government has billions to hand out to Ukraine

Personally, I don't see that in Canada's results, especially in winter. At least you dominated the home 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, while Italy had a worse result in Turin in 2006 than in 2002, and I fear the same will happen now. If you were born in Italy, you'd be a big shock:cry:

The funding for the Ski Federation in Italy: Fisi, hasn't changed in 2 years... If you're organizing the Winter Olympics, you should spend significantly more than usual. I don't understand what these people expect? Another Italian miracle:facepalm: There are no miracles here- you must have to spend 10 times more, if you can win more medals. It`s easy.
