Hopefully this whole thing cools down from all sides, but yeah.

Seems like things might be getting underway, with reports of several dozens of those lawnmower engine drones being underway. Presumably not with the actual goal to hit something, because of course they'll most likely be shot down with relative ease.

Drones are often used to detect enemy anti-aircraft protection and know where to strike with something stronger. This is how Russians often act in Ukraine.

Israel is in a better situation than Ukraine because it has 100% US guarantees and better anti-aircraft protection. I don't think the Iranian Shahed drones that are effective in Ukraine will work here either.

But of course Iran knows those cheap Shahed things aren't going to cause any real trouble, no way the goal of those things is to actually cause any damage :p Just distraction and eating up some munition and stuff. The real danger is if missiles are coming behind them.

    • The Italian team has already achieved a better result than the Chinese team in 2022 at home. The Italian team has made enormous progress since 2023, when we were still losing to Korea and Poland. Of course, this is mainly due to naturalizations, but China did the same. It's one of the few sports that have made significant progress before these Olympics and this is how it should be in most disciplines at home games.
