I was surprised as well. I guess they're trying to make up for the single men's quota for concacaf? They couldn't give them more without substracting from one of the other confeds, which would probably make the tournament (even) less attractive. -

How did CONCACAF get 3 women's quotas, especially since the united states are qualified as hosts. Asia should get 3 full quotas. Europe should also get 5. -

I doubt that Germany will use all its eight Women's places. Now that Carl won't be able to compete, I only see six "safe" athletes (Rydzek, Gimmler, Hoffmann, Hennig, Sauerbrey, Fink) and maybe Krehl. -
