Finnator123 292 Posted December 29, 2017 #54 Share Posted December 29, 2017 Our Powerplay is awful tbh.... Like we should've won with almost double digit numbers against Denmark, but our players tried way too fancy moves lol

phelps 7,680 Posted December 29, 2017 #60 Share Posted December 29, 2017 (edited) 12 hours ago, hckosice said: but 52-20 shots on goal is even more humiliating statistic than a double digit score, especially in the second period when CAN send 21 shots !!! yes 21 in 20 minutes you can deduce by yourself how this match was played. But anyway, Canada was clearly above our level, in all sides, extremely speed, all players too strong on puck, especially the defencers much much better skilled than ours, this was the main difference. also the power plays, our guys spend too much times in the penalty box, Canada scored 3 goals in power plays, we had 2 and did not marked a single shot on their goal during the whole complete 4 minutes...what to say more And when we think that already 24 hours later we have to play USA which had a rest day yesterday ! I had some bad feeling about tonights result but well, once again, all these things were and are expected, since last years draw, the whole year our focus is on the do or die match vs Denmark this new years eve day, if we win that game, the tournament will be considered as successful if not...may god help us in the relegation round to continue and maintain our streak to never been relegated from the top division since our fist appearance in 1996. So tonight once again I expect the "save energy mode" from our team resulting in another blow out in the final score board naaaa...you should be a little bit more trustful to your youngsters... just joking...but wow! that was quite a surprise by SVK...yesterday's win, I mean... hopefully now they don't lose focus on their main goal and don't waste it all in the next 2 matches (especially the last one, probably the most important of all in any case, unless they can add another point in the standings aftr the game against the Finns)... by the way, very nice match between Czech Republic and Sweden, with the Scandinavians being a lot stronger in the first period and the Czechs trying to comeback in the second... in the third period the Czechs raised the pressure, but they couldn't close the gap, meanwhile the Swedes showed their killer instinct and took the 3 points in the standings... p.s. I still remember the match between Italy and Sweden at the 1992 Worlds (in Prague and Bratislava)...we got one of the best results of our history (a 0-0 draw), but the shooting score was 89-1 for Sweden so, I'm quite expert in this kind of "humiliating superiority", at least for what concerns the overall level of play... p.p.s. guess who was elected as the "man of the match" in that game? yes! you're right! It was our goalie...David Delfino on that given day, to be precise... Edited December 29, 2017 by phelps
