There was also Tymoshchuk, I think, but he simply lives in Russia and doesn't say anything publicly. Second, he retired a long time ago. Generally for me, it's important to distinguish that simply staying in Crimea, for example, isn't as serious a crime as war crimes or working for Russia, for example, by informing. The fact that the current captain of the Women Ukrainian football team was a sport camp in Crimea in 2016 shows that even in Ukraine, no one treats it as a serious offense. -
They really need to just hire one autistic rando who loves the Olympics to proffread those documents. -
To be honest, it's going to be much worse for your women than it was for Great Britain. -
Pretty good comparaison as to what to expect in handball, ya. And just like the UK, the US is finding all sorts of dual nationals who play professionally in Europe, like Pál Merkovszky, Jonas Strömberg, Alexander Chan Blanco, Benjamin Edwards, Sean Corning, Paul Skorupa, Dániel Hunyadi, Aboubakar Foufana, Ian Hueter, Lukas Larlskov Hansen, Douglas Otterström, Rodrigo Campos, Patrick Hueter, Samuel Hoddersen and Domagoj Sršen. The US men's national team is sort of like a situation but without anyone being naturalized (everyone above is a US citizen either by parentage or due to having been born in the US). The women's team seems more homegrown, but it's definitively weaker too.

Those US teams won't be *that* bad. Like, ya they will finish last by a decent margin, but they are still serious national teams that will be well prepared.

Rich Ruohonen qualifying for the Olympics as an alternate is kind of a cool story. Old school curling guy who's been in the American scene for decades, with a ton of runner up finishes at US nationals, making his Olympic debut at 54. Also very happy for my fellow Washingtonians Luc Violette and Ben Richardson.

I think (probably) if the FIL lets them enter 3 lugers in a race they must intend that up to 3 can qualify. Be nice if they gave us some rules. -

Handball literally gave Australia a host quota back in 2000 so they'll give it to anyone. Field hockey in comparison has been more restrictive. They require the United States to have a world ranking of at least 25, which the women should easily meet and the men are likely to meet.
