No point in these games, just another 'dictator' games.

I agree there is no point for such a Games, no doubt, actually some of our national federations are not satisfied when the NOC pushes them to send their athletes here

but you think there is a point for Commonwealth Games or even Mediterranean Games ? what Commonwealth countries have in common ? (I know the answer though  but that's not something those countries should be proud of)

what about the "Racist Games" ? some users here (I'm not talking about you) can participate there for sure.

Some of these games have no sense. From my understanding these games exclude those of a different faith. All of those countries competing are not 100% of one religion... so its a bit awkward for athletes that are not of that particular faith. Yes I do agree with the Commonwealth Games being more irrelevant. However, CGF released a 2022 plan where there would be Olympic qualification (or making the event important).

These Games should have qualification for Olympics like it @intoronto sayed for Commowealth. Personality, i support all games where athletes can training own skills and see where they can fix mistakes before Olympics.

Well, maybe not, but i don't see why such events should not take place when we have already have multi sports events like "south east asian  games" where only 11 nations are allowed to participate :p here at least we have many different participating countries (plus the more volleyball,  the better for me :d )

My favourite Volleyball position: LIBERO. You ask why? Look here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyIOarNAONk

Just like Azerbaijan's defending gold medalist losing in the first round to Canada's AVF in London 2012?

All other sports do not take place in the Commonwealth games so no discussion there, but Canada has had success in all those sports you listed in a continental or global level.

And most of Canada's medals in Rio 2016 were born in Canada. The others chose to move and train here so there is no problem with that... unlike most countries in the Middle East buying athletes... how pathetic.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
