Middle Eastern qualifier was held today. Qatar and UAE have qualified for the final. :UAE made a big surprise, they are going for their first Nations Cup final and they eliminated Saudi Arabia. :KSA is declining very much in their most successful Olympic discipline...

Tomorrow we have the first North American qualifier, where :CAN:ESA:MEX:USA will be chasing their first points. :)

Sadly El Salvadoran team didn't start in the second round after getting a cricket score of 49 in the initial round. :(

Nice win for the Irish btw (Irish based riders in the USA). They seem to have more of a winners' mentality over those in Europe, so maybe they should be given a chance at big events. They defeated both USA and CAN, who had some strong riders entered.

Nice result! Would be nice to give our American based riders a chance at the WEG.

Neumunster WC in dressage about to kick off.

Intriguing one for me, as all three of my favs (Krinke Susmelj, Oatley, Reynolds) are competing here and can pretty much secure their places at the WC Final. :d

That crowd in Neumunster

Oatley and Krinke did really well. :) Reynolds unfortunately had a nightmerish start but managed to recover rather nicely to finish 10th. Just two more qualifying stages left. :fingers:

Excellent news, :NZL Wendi Williamson and Dejavu will be embarking on the 60 hours long trip to Nebraska and thus become the first Kiwi rider in history to compete at the dressage WC final. :cheer::bowdown::clap:

5th start, 5th WC win for Isabell Werth this season, this time with Emilio. Even before this win in Gothenburg she had a maximum of 80 pts.

Meanwhile, the calendar for the Event Rider Masters 2017 has been released. 7 stages in three nations, expansion from the first season which only had events in Great Britain. However, the thing I love about ERM are their broadcasts. High quality, knowledgeable and funny commentators, "nerds" from EquiRatings talking about rider/horse statistics , interviews with riders/favourites during the competition etc. It's just an awesome presentation of the eventing. :)

Driving WC final in Gothburg kicked off today with some shocking results!

Overnight leader is :SUI Voutaz, closely followed by :HUN Dobrovitz. Big favourites, :AUS Exell, :NED de Ronde and :NED Chardon had a bad day. Exell and de Ronde are 3rd and 4th overnight, so still with a chance. Meanwhile, an absolute legend and the defending champion Chardon is way out of it, back in 7th place.

Results - time differences will be halved and will be used as starting penalties for tomorrow's decider.

    • The only ones complaining about the short track refs are Italians, imo. Not even on this forum, but in general, from what I've been seeing on live chats and other social media sites. That says a lot to be honest. I suspect it's partially due to them not performing to the high standard they're expected to perform at especially at the Olympics. The refs make a lot of mistakes for everyone, there's no bias against or towards anyone    Plus, Italy have won 6 medals already.... the most you've won at a Worlds since 2016.
    • For me they gave Canada the gold in the relay in exchange for a 1000-meter dsq gold for Dandjinou, that's how I see it. It was a battle between Kor and Can on 2 of this case. It's hard to say why that last dsq for Kor was in relay? Of course, Italy win bronze thanks for that, but that's not really important. It would have been better if the referees had just stayed out of the results and left it as it was decided for fight on the ice.

    • the quata for europe or australia is from the primer 12, where the top 20 teams will participate, sadly  is the 21th team so the only slight chance for us in my opinion is if: we get top 2 at the european championship (not including  hopefully if they get the quata), then somehow win the final qualification tournament against i assume  and one of    the chances for us are slim, i think about 4 other team sports  have a better chance in in my opinion(and the most team sports we ever had was one, and it was the last two time after a long time )

    • well, Cuba and Venezuela for sure...   Iran is a different question, but I hope in 2 years all this war shit is done and dusted and at least in the sports world everything is gonna be OK
    • In my opinion the Italian team has been playing above expectations since last year after several years of decline. Last year, we advanced to the first division at the European Championships and now they're playing very close matches against the strong India and Scotland. We a little miss a potential to do more – we are only 18th in the world rankings. Our men's team's performance in this sport is much weaker.
    • I wonder if all Cuba, Iran and Venezuela will be able to travel and compete in LA at all... Hopefully that yes.
