in hockey pro league in what criteria the participating teams are decided?

No objective criteria, just a mix between Ranking and Commercial interest decided by fih executive board. As you can see in women's for example, belgium was picked above better ranked spain and korea just because they are a bigger market for hockey.

Even Indian women team had this advantage in selection but alas we squandered the chance and withdrew from the league.

India men are asian champions, which means China is qualified for the World Cup (despite being only 7th in Asia...) and South Korea is out for the first time since 1990.

Today started the african championships in Egypt (both M & W), in women competition there is not much interest as South Africa should easily win, but on the men's side home nation Egypt must defend their world league quota by winning the tournament since any other nation winning this (most likely South Africa) would see them out from the World Cup. oh, and Zambia pulled out last minute and without even noticing anyone (!) from both competitions. A classic of African/Oceanian hockey.... probably a FIH suspension coming soon for them.

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
    • Always dreamed Gretzky will draw Slovakia was another moment I can already remove from my things to do before die list
    • Finland have been awful in almost all winter sports, well beside ice hockey and cross-country from time to time, for a lot of years. It's very good to see them building people to challenge for wins again. Their new coach has done wonders it seems.
    • 14th June in Philadelphia against Cote d´Ivoire   20th June inToronto against Curacao   and 25th June in Philadeplphia to kick out  home    Not easy, but not the most difficult group. Should be okay. Vamos
