So, let´s go for todays International tournaments recap.

 

Euro Hockey Tour,

 

Karjala Cup 2016,

In Day 2 of the Karjala Cup Russia defeated Sweden 3-2 and Czech republic the hosts Finland 5-3.

 

After Day 2 - 1st Russia and 2nd Czech Rep. have 6 points, 3rd Sweden and 4th Finland 0.

 

Tomorrows last day of the Karjala Cup will schedule the hockey old firm derby Russia vs Czech Rep. for the tournament win and the Nordic Derby Sweden vs Finland for the 3rd place and first points in this seasons Euro Hockey Tour.

Deutschland Cup,

 

In Day 2 of the Deutschland Cup Slovakia won against Canada 4-3 after GWS :clap:and Germany defeated Switzerland 3-2.

 

After Day 2 - 1st Slovakia lead the tournament with 5 points, 2nd Canada has 4, 3rd Germany 3 and 4th Switzerland 0 points,

 

Before tomorrows last day of the tournament SVK, CAN and GER still battle for the trophy, Already is known that Switzerland will end the tournament in last 4th place.

Tomorrows schedule Switzerland vs Slovakia and Germany vs Canada.

Budapest Challenger,

Today was the last day of the robin round. In Group A Austria lost to South Korea 4-6 !!!

 

South Korea surprisingly won the group with 4 points, Austria finished 2nd with 3 points and Italy last 3rd with 2 points.

 

In Group B Hungary defeated Denmark 3-1.

 

Which means Hungary won the Group B with 6 points, denmark finished second with 3 points and Poland last 3rd with 0.

 

Tomorrow is scheduled the final knockout round day , In Gold Medal match the host Hungary will face South Korea, In Bronze medal game Denmark will play Austria and in the 5th-6th place match Italy will face Poland.

 

 

Bled Tournament,

Today was the last day of the Slovenia Challenger, Belarus won against Slovenia 4-3 after GWS and Latvia defeated France 6-0.

 

Belarus won the tournament with 8 points, Slovenia finished second with 6 points, Latvia 3rd with 4 points and France last without any point and only 1 single goal scored...not a great seasons start for this years World Championship host

Need also to mention Sweden won the Under 17 World Challenge (kinda unofficial under 17 category World Championships) in Canada.

The whole week 8 teams from 6 countries played the tournament. Sweden defeated last night in the Gold medal match team Canada "Black Team"  2-1

Russia won the bronze medals after their win against Canada "White Team"  6-1

In the 5th-6th place match  USA won over Canada "Red Team"  3-2.

Former Colorado Avalanche player and Slovak National Team player, Marek Svatoš, has died in age of 34. :cry:

According to the recent informantion, Marek died on Saturday in Denver, where he lived with his US wife and two children.
We can't confirm if his death was an accident or not.

In respect of privacy of the Svatoš family in these hard times there not more details published fow now.

 

Marek Svatoš (17.06.1982, Košice, Slovakia - 05.11.2016, Denver, USA)

He was also a olympian, played with Slovakia at Torino 2006 winter Olympics,

he scored one goal at World Championships in 2010.

 

RIP Marek :(
