[OFF TOPIC] Happy Holidays and Birthdays Thread

Recommended Posts

Out of pure curiousity and since there's people from a ton of different countries here: do you guys do anything 'special' today? :p

I don't really mean in your country, but personally.

For example in the Netherlands the biggest deal is that tomorrow is a free day and personally all we sometimes do is having breakfast with the 4 of us - parents and sister included - and having a bit bigger dinner. Well, lunch this time, because no way we're gonna have a bigger dinner when there's Formula 1 during dinner time :p

Oh and Belgian TV is showing some singing and stuff from some church in Brussels and they actually had the guts to stop the live coverage of the track cycling world champs for that nopompom.gif

Edit: Wait, they just moved the cycling to their 2nd channel, thank the Lord of Belgian TV for that :d

Still sort of weird that slow singing of psalms goes before track cycling in the country of cycling, but so be it :p

lol noooo, when we were young we visited all our girls classmates etc...now it´s only about the family girls and womens :) but it´s still very hard to visit them all...for example my grandmother is always angry when I forget her or I don´t go to splash her (decently ofc) already first :d but she always reward me with some euros, so I rarely forget her :p

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
