way too easy...but still, the Japanese girls made a big mistake and compromised her final result...

meanwhile Lettner is going well, but she looks a bit too slow...

Letter did it faster than the Russian

7 seconds too slow...

for now...

and it's time for Lukan to show her stuff...she desperately needs to go in provisional 1st place

Expand

So now Lukan and Letter have both 18 points. Lammer can be 4th and she still get gold.

and Lukan was 6 seconds slower than Lettner, but still she's in front in the overall ranking (tied on points, but she has a segment win)...

now Lammer needs to be at least 4th in the lead section to win the Gold medal...

and Lammer misses out with an unexpected mistake... :SLO Lukan wins Gold, :AUT Lettner Silver and :AUT Lammer is out of the medals, since :GER Meul should be the Bronze medallist...

It was so close for Lammer. Ok, so now she and Meul have both 20 points and one segment win. Which of them will be third?

I think Meul, since the final placing in the Lead section should count (but this is not a world cup event, so I'm not sure...we have to wait for confirmation)...

    • We´ll see. anyway, I hope hope so.   It was her first career senior bout, maybe a bit too early, to be thrown in the lion´s den, but if all this will result in a medal in LA 28 I am all in

    • @hckošice, even though Tomankova lost, she had a good fight against Costa, I think soon she and Babulfath will be the stars of -48kg.

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.
