and in the first men's semifinal of the men's sppedskating the Korean guy (clearly the fastest on paper in the sprint distance) did suicide himself with a false start...

:ITA Vincenzo Maiorca and the :NED guy (don't ask me to write his name) say "thanks"...

So there is no place for mistakes? First false start and you're out?

If I am correctly Schenk should win lead to overtake Chinese. First French has poor result so if Italian won't win lead Huang is in the final (I think).

actually he only needs to stay ahead of the Chinese to beat him (he's ahead after 2 events)...

however, also the Korean Dong is just third last and basically out of everything...

it's gonna be quite a messy finish with many overtakings at the last move...

Oh, you're right. I was looking at wrong Chinese in the general classification :dunno: Pan indeed doesn't have big chances to qualify.

and Schenk too...he just made a shameful outing...

or not? the live scoring is going crazy...they wrote he was out at the 14th hold and instead he actually reached the Top (with a better time than Pang but worse than the Japanese)...:yikes::wall:

in the Inline Speedskating combined event the medals are already decided before the final of the 500m sprint race...

:COL + :ITA + :TPE are in both men and women's finals...

the 4th male finalist is :NED and the 4th female finalist is :FRA

basically, :COL is gonna win both Gold medals unless something really unexpected happens...the women's Silver and Bronze are up for grabs for :ITA and :FRA (not sure if :ESP has still a mathematical chance for Bronze, I should make some calculations and I don't have any intention to do that)...

in the men's event, :ITA is almost sure of the Silver medal and :NED of the Bronze medal, even if :TPE has still a remote chance of overtaking the Dutch guy (he must win the race and the Dutch end up in last place of the same final)...

    • Unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm looking forward to Thursday evening, when the team captain's meeting is over and we have our very first World Cup start list of the season. Always a cool moment to see who's there and everything
    • Today I unpacked some of the boxes in which we have put my way too many books to move to our house, and I came across these beauty's I hadn't seen for a while     Absolutely recommended, tough to get for a decent price, but they are such an interesting read with lots of very interesting little stories! Still looking for at least 1900, 1904 and 1906, but not really in the right moment to spend money on that now, so the wait goes on
    • Which I guess is part of why unfortunately 'our' first wild card attempt of the season was rejected last week
