Was her husband with her as well? You know, the guy who bought EPO but of course only for himself (non-athlete) and definitely not for his elite athlete wife :p

EPO is the new viagra, every old people knows that :)

Still, I don't know if she is still on the juice (doping at 57 yo seems like a very dangerous and slighty retard move to me), but come on, she is almost 60, she was/is a freak of nature.

Horrible crash in the Tour of Belgium with, again, two motorcycles. Apparently they were riding on a path to the side of the road, which suddenly ended, resulting in them suddenly being in the mud. Because of that they lost the control of their motorbikes and "flew" into the peloton. Reports are saying around 20 riders were hit and 11 are transferred to a hospital. Stig Broeckx (BEL, Lotto-Soudal) is apparently the worst hit rider: some are saying he has been resuscitated and moved to the Aachen hospital by trauma helicopter.

Meanwhile Broeckx is still in the hospital and still hasn't woken up. They're reducing the sleep-inducing medication, but he's not responsing to sound or touch. So far they're describing his current state as a "vegetative coma" and since he has suffered very severe brain damage, it's doubtful he'll actually wake up..

Mountainbiker Martin Gruth won the German national championships road race.....or so he thought :d

He sprinted, thought he beat the likes of Kittel and Greipel and was of course happy, until he saw the peloton pass him at full speed and realized there was still one lap to go

 by the way is exactly what you see Fabian Wegmann do in the background :d

Belgian article, the video is in there (I guess it's on Youtube as well, but I didn't have the spirit to search for that on my phone :p )

    • Unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm looking forward to Thursday evening, when the team captain's meeting is over and we have our very first World Cup start list of the season. Always a cool moment to see who's there and everything
    • Today I unpacked some of the boxes in which we have put my way too many books to move to our house, and I came across these beauty's I hadn't seen for a while     Absolutely recommended, tough to get for a decent price, but they are such an interesting read with lots of very interesting little stories! Still looking for at least 1900, 1904 and 1906, but not really in the right moment to spend money on that now, so the wait goes on
    • Which I guess is part of why unfortunately 'our' first wild card attempt of the season was rejected last week
