Well, you Italians are quite pessimistic, from what I see.

At least you have the statistics on your side; the host country always does its best at home.

Looking at 2006 Winter Games and write me what do you think about that, ok?

I don't know how this will end for us, but I'm 99% certain it will be disappointing, because even 20/21 medals won't be a great result. Many things could have been done better and had a little less bad luck, but fortunately, new people have emerged this season who can save these Games for us: like, Giacomel in biathlon and Franzoni in alpine skiing. Perhaps our own luge and bobsleigh track will also help us a bit... I hope so. We'll see how it goes at the and.

Well, I agree, it wasn't good for a host country. Well, let's hope the athletes know how to use the advantage this time.

5 gold medals were okay for the time, but overall: 11 medals compared to 13 in 2002, was an embarrassment. Alpine skiing was the main disappointment: zero medals. And then we had eight dark years in winter sports: 2010 and 2014 were our worst Olympics of the 21st century. This shows that Turin 2006 was a complete failure in every respect: not even a single sports venue from those Games remains at now! Only in 2016/2017 did we begin to recover in winter sports from that disgrace.

Yeah that would be disappointing, however Italians have performed well enough the past few seasons that I don’t think it’ll happen. Think you’ll be more in the 23-25 medal rang

Yep, I’m hoping so too, always nice to see athletes winning Olympic medals at home. :yes

US has won exactly 9 golds at 5 successive Winter Games (06-22) so I expect 9 golds this Games as well.

I would personally be shocked if you guys didn't win 15+ golds this year. Jordan Stolz/US team pursuit + the female alpine skiers + the figure skaters + ice hockey + the freestyle ski/snowboard team should provide plenty of gold medals.
