Men - Cam Smith

 

Women - Anna Gibson

 

History

 

This is a new sport to the Olympics.  Smith and Gibson paired up in December and won Gold in the Mixed Relay in Solitude.  The other nations didn't have their A Team, I don't think, but it was nice to see some success.  We'll see what happens!

Going to go through sport by sport and offer my thoughts on our performance...starting with SkiMo:

 

1) Not related to Team USA, but the sprints just seemed kinda...short.  Ok, yes, they're sprints, but the relay course was twice as long, and they had to do that twice.  I would say that they should do the relay course for the sprints, too, but that might be too much given the knock-out formula.

 

2) I think the commentators noted that Cam Smith was better at a longer distance, and that was evident by his and Anna Gibson's 4th place in the relay.  Color me impressed!

 

3) Additionally, they both made it to the finals of the sprints.  I think things are definitely looking good looking into 2030 and 2034.

Yeah they can get rid of the sprint. Too short.

 

The mixed relay was fun and there was some changes in the leaderboard. Happy with our result in 4th especially considering Gibson is pretty new to the sport.

 

I'm fine if they keep this sport, but get rid of the sprint. Races should be 30 min or longer.
