Jaelyn Liu was Foil Cadet+Junior Champ in 2025 and did the same 2-peat here in this year. (Was also Cadet champ in 2024.) She also has a senior Gold in Team in the 2025 WCh, and even snagged her own Gold in one of the Senior World Cups in 2025. A rising star to keep your eye on. -

This is probably the worst generation in our history and certainly in the 21st century. Today, the junior women's foil team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Japan... So far, we've won only 3 bronze medals – our worst result in XXI century. It's a disgrace. Football shows that you can quickly fall from power to mediocrity and unfortunately, the new leadership in our fencing is doing a disastrous job, considering we're already weak even in women's foil. Here in women's foil: junior and cadet, we have 0 medals. So I ask, where is our outstanding Italian school? Even in the senior competition, it's clear that the USA has been doing a much better job than us for many years. -
